Very physical presence on defense and is a great rebounder."

[player_tooltip player_id='1944190' first='Mason' last='Ennis'], 6'5” F, Brandon Valley – "Very athletic and physical forward, has great touch and footwork around the paint, and is able to score against defenders of any size. We have guys at every position who are great rebounders who love to work hard, and know that without rebounding and finishing possessions on the defensive end, they don't get to get out in transition and run down the court and get open looks."

PHD: What style of basketball will you play?

"We want to get out and run and score quickly out in transition off rebounds but also on their makes too. Once in the half court though we want to play a 5-Out or 4-Out + 1-In Motion style offense. With a lot of cutting and driving and screening. One of our strengths as a team is that we have so many ball handlers who can push the ball up the court we want to utilize that to beat teams down the court. And then use those same principles to attack the rim and either get layups or kick-outs for open shots."

PHD: Who do you predict will be your top defender?

"[player_tooltip player_id='1529877' first='Beau' last='Leslie'] is one of the toughest defenders I've ever seen at the high school level. Not only is he willing to put his body on the line and take more charges than anyone I've seen, he also wants to guard the other team's best player regardless of what position that player is. In any given possession he is more than capable of picking a Guard up for the full 90 feet or holding his own with a Center who's 6” taller than him on the block."

PHD: What event/tournament are you looking forward to the most?

"The Battle of the Lakes in Minneapolis is always a great event with a lot of good competition. We also enjoy going down to Kansas City and seeing teams that we don't normally get to compete against and seeing how we stack up."

PHD: Do you see your team playing man, zone, or a mix of both?

"We will play 99% of our possessions of defense in a man-to-man coverage. If we do switch to zone it will be to throw a different look at an offense for a possession or two and even then we will be using our same man-man principles."

PHD: What are your goals for this AAU/grassroots season?

"Our first goal for this season is to make every one of our players a better basketball player at the end of the summer than they were at the beginning. Sending them back to their High School teams with an improved skill level and higher Basketball IQ is very important. The second goal, which is just as important, is for the players who want to play at the Collegiate level to get in front of the right College Coaches who should be recruiting them."

PHD: Who are some of the top shooters?

"We have so many great shooters on the team it's tough to narrow it down. But I would say that [player_tooltip player_id='1784724' first='Dawson' last='Getz'], [player_tooltip player_id='1421530' first='Layke' last='Wold'], [player_tooltip player_id='1530220' first='Braxton' last='Pravecek'] all stand out. The best part about those 3 is they are such good shooters at different positions. Layke is one of the best catch-and-shoot scorers in the state and doing it from the PG position. Dawson is so long and athletic he can catch and shoot as well as create his own shot. Braxton is a great catch-and-shoot guy as well who gets himself a lot of wide-open looks because of his off-ball movement and screening."

BEST OF LUCK TO SACRED HOOPS!
