Strong Start to Club Circuit

The state of Arkansas is well-represented by the number of talented prospects that are off to a strong start to the club season. In this article, we are going to highlight several players to keep an eye on as the spring and summer start to heat up.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2021787' first='Lyndell' last='Buckingham']-Combo Guard-Marion-6'2” -2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Buckingham can do everything that the coaches ask of him. From running the point guard spot to shooting the ball well, Buckingham is an impressive prospect. He is unselfish with the basketball and seems to know where the open shooter is at all times. Buckingham can drive through the lane and finish with points or make the extra pass to an open teammate. He is active on both ends of the floor and has displayed solid defense. During the first session of the spring, he struck for 32 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds. Buckingham is setting the stage for a strong summer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2021873' first='Jacob' last='Lanier']-Point Guard-Maumelle-6'6”-2026</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Maumelle point guard is a prospect that will open eyes on both ends of the court. Lanier had a strong showing at the EYBL session in Memphis to start the club circuit. He drives through the lane well, absorbs contact, and still finishes above the rim. Lanier passes the ball well and is an unselfish player with the basketball. He stays active on both ends of the floor and rebounds the ball well. Lanier forces turnovers and starts the fast break in impressive fashion. He is a player to watch out for over the next couple of seasons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2021882' first='Aidan' last='Chronister']-Shooting Guard-Rogers-6'7”-2026</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2021882' first='Aidan' last='Chronister'] has had a strong few months with the Mounties as well as on the club circuit. He started off the club circuit averaging over 20 points per game. Chronister has a smooth jump shot that he can connect on from anywhere on the floor. He has the ability to drive the ball to the basket and finish above the rim. Meanwhile, Chronister does a nice job of staying active on both ends of the floor. He can defend the guards or forwards with his size. Chronister continues to up his level of play and has the potential to be a big problem for opposing teams over the summer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2427716' first='James' last='Elgas']-Combo Guard-Arkadelphia-6'0”-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2427716' first='James' last='Elgas'] is a lockdown defender the minute he steps on the court. He has no problem playing tight defense without fouling. Elgas does an excellent job of forcing turnovers. He will pressure opposing guards into making mistakes with the basketball. Elgas will start the fast break and runs the floor well. Meanwhile, on the offensive end, he shoots the ball well and has good ranger. Elgas can hit with plenty of consistency. He is a player to watch out for over the course of the summer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
