Happy Live Period! The 2024 Big Shots Carolina Live was held this weekend in Bermuda Run, North Carolina featuring some of the Top Independents Programs from the Southeast participating in front of College Coaches. These five prospects are Wings that stood out in a variety of ways including athleticism, defending, interior scoring, perimeter scoring, and playmaking. Check them out below:
Martaz Owens Martaz Owens 6’3″ | CG Dreher | 2024 State SC had a strong weekend playing with his Future Prep teammates on Flight 22 Prep at the Big Shots Carolina Live. He is very athletic but also shows his versatility through a number of ways on the court. He is switchable on the defensive end, can score off the dribble going to either side, and finishes strongly through contact. Martaz can also stretch the floor and contribute to rebounding on the defensive end. After having a strong High School Career with Dreher in the Columbia Area, Owens will reclassify to the 2025 Class and continue to seek a collegiate opportunity.

Da’Mori recently committed to Walters State Community College but is still running with Big Shots SC Premier on the BS Circuit. He impressed in Bermuda Run with his ability to be an athletic Swiss army knife wing. He does a variety of things well, but his physical attributes stand out the most. He is listed at 6’6″ with a strong frame and tremendous vertical that helps him make plays on both ends of the floor. In a close loss to SB Elite on Saturday, Lytch finished with 24 Points and 13 Rebounds, and chipped in on the defensive end with 2 Steals and a Block.

Schofield has had a strong Spring so far and continued it with his play at the Big Shots Carolina Live. He likes to set up shop in and around the paint on offense, using his length and athleticism to score at the rim. He put up 12 Points and 6 Rebounds in that matchup with SB Elite. Despite his more slender frame, Cedric is a strong finisher and doesn’t shy away from contact with the ball in his hands. He also is a good rim protector and has good rebounding instincts.

David Sanchez
David Sanchez
David Sanchez is one of two prospects in my list of Top Wings that left a good first impression on me in North Carolina. He attends Ponte Verda High School and was running with OTOD out of Florida at the Big Shots Carolina Live. Davis is very smooth with the ball in his hands, showing a knack for getting to his spots and rising over defenders to knock down shots. Sanchez also has good vision and knows when to keep the ball moving if his shot isn’t there. He went for 18 Points including the game-winning shot in overtime in a Saturday Afternoon win.
Jeffery Lockhart
Jeffery Lockhart
Lockhart is another prospect who stood out to me for the first time. He is a 2027 Wing who has a very bright future out of Georgia. Jeffery is a true two-way player, affecting the game on both ends of the floor. He was one of the best Perimeter Defenders in the event and provided nagging ball pressure while keeping his matchup in front of him the majority of the time. Lockhart can also provide scoring and ball-handing on the offensive end, going for 13 Points, 4 Assists, and 2 Steals vs Hoopzsters.
