Last week our staff gave a fresh update to the class of 2026 rankings in Southern California. Below we break down those who raised their stock among the Top 40 players in the class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956616' first='Jaden' last='Bailes'] | St. Augustine

Bailes has always been a very good perimeter scorer/shooter but he was much more efficient and dialed in with his jump shot during his sophomore season which earned him a bump up to No. 23 from No. 39. Bailes is a steady-paced combo guard who can fill up the scoring column in a hurry.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131786' first='Markee' last='White Jr.'] | Corona Centennial

White turned himself into a valuable piece for Corona Centennial with his combination of size, athleticism, high motor and defensive versatility. The 6-foot-7 forward wasn't the go-to guy offensively for the Huskies but he always found a way to impact the game whether it was on the offensive or defensive boards, guarding multiple positions or slashing his way to the basket on straight-line drive finishes. White made a small jump from No. 28 to No. 27.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956502' first='Dominique' last='Bentho'] | Harvard-Westlake

Bentho had tough shoes to fill as he was thrust into a starting role for the defending CIF State Open Division champions. The 6-foot-8 center was as solid as a sophomore could be under those circumstances and helped the Wolverines to back-to-back Open titles. Bentho has a ton of upside to his game with his soft hands and fundamental footwork inside. His steadiness as a defensive rebounder and rim protector earned him a three-spot jump from No. 32 to No. 29.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956625' first='Dax' last='Hall'] | Santa Fe Christian

Hall was flying a bit under-the-radar in the San Diego area due to the success of his older brother - 2025 ranked prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1630639' first='Jake' last='Hall'] of Carlsbad - but the 6-foot-1 point guard is making his own name. Hall is a quick and heady ball-handler whose eyes are always up the floor in transition looking to find an open teammate. His speed and shiftiness allow him to get paint touches in the open court and is willingness to find open teammates lends to his playmaking skill-set. Hall jumped from the watchlist to No. 38 in the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='2137372' first='Josiah' last='Johnson'] | Orangewood Academy

Johnson is a prospect who has burst onto the scene recently and will continue to rise in the rankings if he sustains the level of play we've seen from him so far this spring. The 6-foot-3 combo guard is a quick twitch athlete who can score from all three levels of the floor. Johnson went from the rankings watchlist to No. 44 in our latest update.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131799' first='Nana' last='Ofoegbu'] | Long Beach Poly

Ofoegbu is a sure-minded decision maker who operates as a floor general type of point guard in various styles of play. The 6-footer plays at his own pace, limits turnovers and was comfortable being a set-up guy for his teammate, and one of the top prospects on the west coast, [player_tooltip player_id='1630619' first='Jovani' last='Ruff']. Ofoegbu knew when and where to deliver the ball to teammates for them to be most successful and is an on-time and on-target passer. Ofoegbu went from the watchlist to No. 60 overall in the updated 2026 rankings.
