Madness in the Midwest. In the top bracket, Northstar Titans Bertsch hung tough with their opponents splitting their games against some new Wisconsin teams. The Midwest Kings represented themselves well in a tough Pool B splitting their games as well.
Rocky Mountain Mayhem. The Minnesota teams love heading out to Colorado and the Prep Hoops events in Colorado are packed with top teams in the region. Minnesota Heat Academic took some time out of their landscape viewing to win three of four games in Denver!
Scheels League. The Scheels League kicked off last weekend and it was Minnesota Select (Ohnstad) that was able to get a bad St. Cloud quarterfinal taste out of their mouth by going 4-0 with important wins over Wisconsin Swing, Minnesota Fury (Wilde) and Team 1848 (by one in the final). This weekend they really get to test themselves with a scheduled game against D1 Minnesota , the Colorado Miners and other quality teams in the Takedown.
Have to mention our northern neighbors ECI (who do have an All State Minnesota player in Owen Chervestad Owen Chervestad 6'0" | PG Red Lake County | 2025 State MN from Red Lake County). They took third beating Comets Elite and Fury Wilde. Comets Elite had a 3-1 weekend in the Scheels League as well.
Select Classic. There were 21 teams at the 17u level playing in the Minnesota Select Classic. Select Meitz had a really nice weekend winning all four of their games including close game wins over Lightning Herber and West Central Wildcats . Both the Herber team and the Wildcats had good weekends as well going 3-1. Also having a good weekend in this event was Grassroots Sizzle who was another 3-1 team. The Swish went 4-0 in the second division.
Spring Showcase. Howard Pulley was back in Iowa again, this time for the Spring Showcase. They were one of three 17u teams playing in this event and they went 3-1 with every game played being against the All Iowa Attack program. They lost to the All Iowa Attack top 16s but beat the top AIA 17s twice.
Spring Classic. The Spring Classic was highlighted by a game between West Central United Select and D1 Minnesota Gold which was won by West Central United who went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend in the event. D1 Minnesota Gold earned a 3-1 record for the weekend.
MADE Hoops. The Magic are listed for a 1-1 record in this event although I am not sure if that is the full weekend, looks like MADE Hoops stopped bothering with recording/posting results half way through.
