Madness in the Midwest. Border Select Basketball Westberg got their season going with a 4-0 record in Wisconsin. BSB beat Twin Cities Elite which was the only loss of the weekend for TC Elite, another team that swept Wisconsin teams. Titans Martinson went 3-0 against the Wisconsin opponents as well but the one defeat came from WOTN Hannah, a local. That WOTN Hannah team went undefeated in their pool including that local win while WOTN Foley faced the toughest competition among the MN teams and they split their games. WOTN Kranz went 3-1 so it was a strong 10-2 weekend for the WOTN 16u teams.
Rocky Mountain Mayhem. What team has been an early season headliner? That would be Gain Elite coached by Ernest Duberry! They are 9-0 right now after sweeping a second event and they are going to need an uptick in competition! Great start for the veteran coach and his squad.
Scheels League. It was a Minnesota dominated final four with two Select teams, Comets Elite and the Fury Antl squad that is 2 for 2 when it comes to winning events. Fury Antl beat Select Altenhofen in the final while Comets Elite beat Select Brewer in the third place game. Good weekend for Fury Reyes too who lost to Wisconsin Swing in the opener but then won three in a row to take the consolation championship.
Select Classic. J Squad J Sizzle Adidas Gold went 4-0 in this event (I believe it was this team but could be wrong) beating teams from the Swish and Select programs among others. A solid event with Select, Fury, Lighting and Comets 3rd teams and some up and comers.
Spring Showcase. Howard Pulley 16s was in Iowa for another weekend, they played four games that were all against teams from the All Iowa Attack program and they won one game.
MADE Hoops. Minnesota Magic won all three of their games in the Made Hoops event in Chicago including wins over the Chi-Town Bulldogs, Denard Brothers and Meanstreets EYCL (second team in their program).
