Many of the Carolinas’ top independent programs were in attendance making for a fun day of action. These six prospects are Unsigned Seniors who stood out and are looking to get into form before the upcoming live period with a chance to leave one last good impression on College Coaches. Check them out below:
DJ Kelley
DJ Kelley
Starting our list of impressive Unsigned Seniors from the Phenom Queen City Showcase is DJ Kelley. Kelley is lightning quick with the ball in his hands and has a good handle and floor vision. He can also finish strongly at the basket and do it with either hand. DJ received his first offer from Converse University last week and could start to see more funnel in if his strong play continues.
Jordan was in action this weekend with Next Level Elite Poole. He had the ball in his hands often in the second half against NC Bulldogz on Saturday Evening, tallying 11 Points and 9 Assists. There is plenty of shooting on this NLE Poole squad – including Sullivan – but he will be the main playmaker for most of the season. He did a terrific job of balancing when to facilitate and when to score as his team won comfortably. Sullivan also does some work on the defensive end, chipping in to force turnovers and on the glass.
Highlights
Cameron Pulley
Cameron Pulley
Pulley is another Unsigned Senior Guard from the Palmetto State who is worth a watch this Grassroots Season. He had a couple of solid games on Saturday at the Phenom Queen City Showcase, particularly an impressive win over Carolina Rebels where Cameron knocked down 3 threes. Pulley is versatile enough to play either position on the backcourt and did so both yesterday and during the High School Season with Hillcrest High School.
Jared Taylor
Jared Taylor
Taylor is a very physical big man from Cap City Charlotte who impressed me this weekend. He is a tough box-out on the offensive end with a high motor. Jared feasts in the paint and will put on a show at the rim in breakaway opportunities. He had a dominating 20-point performance against NPLB, who weren’t on the small side in comparison to Jared’s size or strength.
Ryan Evans
Ryan Evans
The shots weren’t falling for Ryan in Saturday’s second game like they were in the first game but he still had a positive impact on Cap City Charlotte’s 2-0 day. He did still have 3 threes, however it was his rebounding and hustle plays that stood out. He hauled in 9 boards and seemed to be the first to every loose ball. Evans’ size also makes him an asset on defense, guarding several positions for his squad.
Brendan Bailey Brendan Bailey 6’4″ | SF Asheville Christian Academy | 2024 State NC caps off our list of Unsigned Seniors from Rock Hill’s proceedings. He has a strong frame and is capable of making plays with the ball in his hands. Bailey uses this frame very well and recognizes when to take a mismatch to the basket. His go-to move is the turnaround jump shot, which he uses against tough defenses or when his team needs a bucket. Brendan had a very well-rounded game on Saturday Evening, putting up 12 Points and 10 Rebounds.
