Martin was the tallest and most athletic player in this game, and may have had the most of all players in the tournament. At this age level most taller players like Martin don’t move as well in the open floor or handle the ball nearly as much. His clear size advantage he used to his advantage well, scoring inside, rebounding and blocking shots.
Wynn Weiland – Weilan is a 2029 guard for MN Rush from Wayzata. Wynn had an incredible 2nd half shooting the basketball from the corners hitting multiple 3-pointers. Weiland also made good drives to the basket and finished plays with a solid floater shot.
Tracell Jackson – Jackson is a 2029 forward for the Minneapolis Hustlers. Jackson has a clear size advantage over his fellow 2029 players, and movement wise, pretty good athlete already. Showed ability to block shots without fouling, and able to defend in space.
Jax Lockwood – Lockwoods is a 2029 guard for the MN Rush and is from Elk River. Lockwood’s outside shooting was a difference marker for Rush throughout the game. He made 5 3-pointers in the first half and 6 for the game. In the open floor dribbles with head-up ready to make a play.
Future Staples – Staples is a 2029 guard for the Minneapolis Hustlers. Staples plays with a quick pace, head-up trying to push, and has good passing vision. With maturity and growth could see him elevating as a strong lead guard. Showed confidence on his jumpshot and willingness to shoot transition 3’s with good form.
Tanner Heinen – Heinen is a 2029 forward for MN Rush and from St. Michael-Albertville. Heinen has some ball handling skills for his size, six-foot, and moves well. Stay aggressive on offense and defense, and was key to helping Rush versus the Hustlers full-court pressure making the right play in the middle of the floor.
