Lonestar State Showdown Early Morning Top Performers

While the tournament began Friday night, the early morning games at Drive Nation saw a ton of players answer the early morning bell. In this Prep Hoops Louisiana exclusive, we will highlight players from Texas and Louisiana who impressed during the early sessions.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2400598' first='Collin' last='Stafford'] (5'10" | Xpress Sports '26)</strong> - Stafford showed the leadership and skill to be an impressive guard in the early Xpress Sports win. He knows how to break pressure with the dribble and keeps his head up at all times. Stafford was impressive on the offensive boards and created extra opportunities for this team. His ballhandling and rebounding, coupled with his floater and basketball IQ, make him a top cover here in Irving. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2400435' first='Kameron' last='Harris'] (6'4" | Xpress Sports '26) -</strong> The big man out of north Louisiana showed that he is hard to guard in the paint. Harris constantly carved out space in the paint and finished several offensive rebounding opportunities with putbacks. He is also a very good passer out of the paint when a double team comes. He may be an undersized big but he is a load to handle in the paint.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2406982' first='Zyquayvious' last='Smith'] (6'2" | Xpress Sports '26) - </strong>Smith performed well during the early games. He is a guard/wing who can do multiple things and do them well. His ability to handle and rebound created opportunities for his teammates over and over again. Smith got to the rim and made shots from behind the arc. His play was big in the early success that Xpress had. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2399567' first='Robert' last='Wright'] (5'11" | On Geaux '25)</strong> - Wright made the most of his time on the court. He was able to help On Geaux extend their lead by playing aggressive man-to-man defense and creating turnovers. Robert moves well in space and has quick hands. He is also a blur in the open floor which helped him convert turnovers he created. Wright is a factor for an On Geaux team who used his spark to their advantage. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1492964' first='Jayden' last='Gladney'] (6'2" | Xpress Sports '25) - </strong>Gladney was the most aggressive player that Xpress 2025 had on the floor during the early AM. He hunted offensive opportunities and scored on open opportunities often. Gladney showed the ability to take contact going to the rim. His wherewithal to convert the bucket or get fouled showed his strength and focus. He also created turnovers with steals which helped keep his team in the lead.
