ORANGE/LOS ANGELES COUNTIES — It was the second-straight weekend that the EHA Circuit and MADE Hoops crew put together a strong California-based club event. West Mania brought together some of the top shoe circuit and independent programs from the Western U.S. for a three-day event, complete with Circuit crossover games in the showcase break off at Cerritos College. In this piece we take a look at the top slashers we saw on the weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1817914' first='Brian' last='Amunueke'] | 2025 | Cali Stars

Amunueke was one of the more best pure athletes we saw in the gym over the weekend. The 6-foot-4 wing is an elite transition finisher with a quick and explosive first jump that allows him to elevate and finish over rim protectors. Amunueke gets downhill quickly and puts pressure on the defense with paint touches. The Rancho Christian high school product is still tightening up his half-court offensive skill-set, but his ability to attack closeouts with straight-line drive finishes was impressive. Amunueke will graduate high school this season but is planning on doing a post-grad year at Southern California Academy.

Cameron Holmes | 2026 | AZ Unity

Holmes is a jack-of-all-trades player whose versatility on both sides of the floor makes him an intriguing long-term prospect. The 6-foot-5 wing is great off the ball when cutting into open space for paint finishes, floaters and mid-range jumpers. Holmes also has the ball skills to initiate offense or use his size and length mismatches to score and create for teammates out of the post.

Chris Nwuli | 2025 | Oakland Soldiers

Nwuli has always been a high level athlete, rebounder and positional defender but it was good to see him be a bit more aggressive and confident offensively. The 6-foot-7 forward is a mobile lane-filler and rim-runner in transition whose combination of size, length and athleticism makes him the ideal fast-break finisher.

DJ Stickman | 2025 | Jalen Green Elite

Stickman is a pogo-stick type of athlete with speed, quickness and the ability to change direction off the bounce without losing any of that burst or explosiveness. The 6-foot-1 lefty uses his first step to blow-by defenders in the half-court setting to secure paint touches where he can elevate and finish over rim protectors. The Clovis West high school product is also a blur in transition with the ball in his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630640' first='Peyton' last='White'] | 2025 | BTI Pro 16

White is one of the more under-appreciated players out west and his performances over the weekend proved that point. The 6-foot-6 forward is built like a Power Five football prospect with the vertical athleticism and mobility of a basketball player. White has good feel as a post scorer and passer but can also face up and hit jumpers or drive his way to the rim and finish above or through contact.

[player_tooltip player_id='1225322' first='Sebastian' last='Williams-Adams'] | 2025 | JL3

Williams-Adams is another well-built three/four-man who has the frame and physicality to drive, absorb contact, stay on balance and finish above the rim or through defenders. The 6-foot-8 forward also showed some touch on catch-and-shoot perimeter jumpers. Williams-Adams operated in a point-forward role at times with his rebound, push and offense initiation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1225694' first='Shelton' last='Henderson'] | 2025 | JL3

I came away from the weekend thinking that Henderson was one of the more impressive prospects I saw. The 6-foot-5 wing has an imposing frame and seeks out contact on drives because of his ability to play through the bump, stay on balance and score in the paint. One of the more impressive parts of Henderson's game was his scoring feel in the post. The simplicity and efficiency of his right hand jump hook caught most defenders off-guard. Henderson rounds out his offensive skill-set with a consistent perimeter shot off the catch.
