Meanwhile two of the state’s other high profile programs traveled to the Big Shots Atlantic Coast Tip Off in North Carolina.
- Marty Johnson Marty Johnson 6'0" | PG Morgantown | 2025 State WV was lights out during this past weekend for the WV Burn outta Morgantown WV. Johnson led the 17U division with 21/ppg on scoring 19, 17, 18 and a whopping 30 in the championship. Johnson will be one of the key cogs in Morgantown High School’s success for next season and he’s getting a head start on filling that role.
- Donovan Brown Donovan Brown 5'8" | PG Herbert Hoover | 2025 State WV led the WV Splash in scoring while second in 17U in total points, Brown actually had the highest PPG with 25. Brown might be a bit undersized but has no problem creating his own space and pulling the trigger from deep as soon as he crosses half court. He put on a shooting clinic on Saturday.
- Isaac Meddings Isaac Meddings 6'0" | CG Wayne | 2025 State WV who was teamed up with the aforementioned Brown on the Splash squad gave opponents real fits trying to defend yet another long range sniper. Meddings was on fire Saturday with his quick release and bombs from downtown. Meddings is a pure catch and shoot guy but doesn’t mind shooting off of one or two bounces. He averaged 21/ppg and 64 total. “Ike” is certainly one of WV’s premier shooters along with Brown.
- Zane Saunders Zane Saunders 6'7" | PF South Charleston | 2025 State WV put on a show for the WV Hustle. Saunders showed alot of versatility and poise scoring in tough situations and when the games were close wanted the ball in his hands. A solid shooter from all levels but Saunders has started to show some strong abilty to drive the ball to the rim and finish. Saunders averaged 21/ppg with 64 total.
- Glenn Brown Glenn Brown 6'1" | CG University | 2026 WV is a name you’ll be hearing soon. Brown is a tough gritty guard who routinely mixed it up in the paint, hit tough shots and played lock down defense. A name we’ll be adding to our 2026 rankings immediately after seeing him play twice on Saturday, he left a big impression. Brown had a slow start with 6 in the first game but bounced back on Saturday with 17 in their second contest. Then on Sunday Brown exploded for 34 vs WV Hustle in bracket play.
- Logan Boyce Logan Boyce 6'0" | CG Robert C. Byrd | 2026 WV is one of the players we had been wanting to see in person for quite awhile. Boyce did not disappoint. Boyce was on a tear for the Jaiden West coached ACT squad. Boyce was rolling with totals of 19 vs Best Virginia, 23 vs WV Hustle in a near upset and 25 on championship Sunday vs WV Runnin Rebels. Boyce is another gritty and tough player who has plenty of athletic ability to go with a high basketball IQ. Boyce had no problem finding seams and gaps in defenses to exploit and took full advantage. All the while shooting ever so efficiently with great shot selection. Boyce led 16U with 22.3/ppg.
- Harry Silvis Harry Silvis 6'2" | SG Parkersburg South | 2026 State WV did what Harry Silvis Harry Silvis 6'2" | SG Parkersburg South | 2026 State WV always does, score the ball. The deep threat shooting guard lit it up with totals of 23, 12, 23 and 30 averaging 22/ppg in a very talented and balanced 16U division. Silvis currently holds a Radford offer and could possibly see another before summer is over while we’d expect most (not all) D2 schools to cool off their pursuit of Silvis.
- Ashton Gute Ashton Gute 5'7" | PG Cross Lanes Christian | 2024 State WV had a fine showing against top competition in the Atlantic Coast event last weekend. Gute poured in a total of 45 over three games coming on strong in the last two. Gute is lightning quick and scores effortlessly at times creating space for himself. The 2024 is still looking for options to play next year and coaches could guarantee themselves a high quality four year program player.
- Ethan Cummings Ethan Cummings 6'2" | SG Tucker | 2027 WV ran off 11, 21 and 13 in North Carolina this past weekend putting himself in the top five for scoring in the 15U SLAM division which was filled with talent. Cummings is a current freshman at Tucker County and you can bet he’ll be a name we’ll report on frequently throughout AAU season and school season.
