We will focus on some of the names in the class of 2026 from upstate New York that we really like. This group is shaping up to be a special one so make sure you remember all these names.
We are going to start this article off with Moesch who was the leading scorer in New York state averaging almost 40 points a game during his Junior season at Chittenago. The Crown standout is expected to continue his massive run into the offseason and almost made even more headlines when he announced he was moving to the class of 2026. He has decided to reclassify and attend the Cushing Academy in hopes of taking his game to even higher level. The step up in competition should alleviate all doubts about this young playmaker and we expect him to gather a ton of new offers very soon.
The next prospect blew up on the AAU scene last season and was recently named MVP of the Westminster boys program. Powell is an upstate native who can score from all three levels, guard multiple positions, help win you games and still has plenty of room to develop. He is rising up the 2026 board fast, he is slowly eliminating all of his flaws and seems to have a completely different view of the game now. We will continue to buy stock in this young playmaker an it wouldn’t surprise us if he reached five star status one of these days.
Darien ” PayDay” Moore
Darien ” PayDay” Moore
Darien “Pay Day” Moore is the all time leading scorer at Central Catholic High School and he did that before his Junior year. He is an upstate phenom who is tearing apart the competition with a ton of points, dunks, assists, steals and wins. We do have some good news for the teams upstate Moore has decided to transfer to Brewster Academy where he will be tested not only in every game but in every practice as well. The Seton Hall commit has 4 or 5 star written all over him and we can’t wait to see him light it up this summer.
Sei’Mir Roberson
Sei’Mir Roberson
Moore’s back court mate 6’1″ point guard Sei’Mir Roberson is another talented sophomore who has already made a name for himself upstate. He along with Moore has racked up over 1,000 points already, won several league accolades and looks like a premier decision maker in 2026. The stud guard already has an offer from Albany and also made headlines recently when he announced he will be transferring to the Westminster Academy. Roberson will pair up with Powell and form one of the deadliest prep back courts in the country.
Haisi Mayben
Haisi Mayben
We found another hidden gem upstate and that would be AAA State Champion 6’1″ point guard Haisi Mayben who just wrapped up his Junior year. He eclipsed the 1,000 point mark, he was an all league selection, lead his team in multiple categories and was named MVP of the State Championship game after dominating. Mayben has two D1 offers so far and we can’t believe they aren’t in the double digits especially after his playoff performance. This upstate playmaker will just continue to grind, take his game to the next level and put in the work as more programs should start to get involved.
The last prospect we want to feature in this piece is a 6’5″ guard from Troy New York. That would be Imahri Wooten Imahri Wooten 6’5″ | SG AZ Compass Prep | 2026 NY who initially transferred out west to Arizona Compass but quickly came back to the east coast and now attends Putnam Science Academy. He has found his new home and hit the ground running stringing together multiple impressive performances against the best of the best. His development over the next few seasons could be huge especially with Wooten’s skillset and massive potential at the next level.
