A variety of score first athletes and multi-positional defenders, these are a few bigger guards who have received varying opportunities throughout the season. Regardless, this group shows upside as impactful varsity players over the coming seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1717327' first='Braylon' last='Vega']

11.1 PPG

2.4 RPG

2.1 APG

38% 3P

Vega's perimeter shooting efficiency along with his positional size makes him one of the more intriguing scoring guards in this class. Bringing in a lanky frame with a particularly wide reach, the guard affects passing lanes and causes deflections at the point of attack. He is not just a shotmaker off the catch, instead much more dynamic with the ball, capable of attacking driving lanes following a closeout. Most often getting to his opportunities when attacking a rotating defense, he does well to make the right read on the fly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1698813' first='Chris' last='Lucero']

5.3 PPG

1.3 APG

1.9 SPG

Lucero is an active point of attack defender, fairly quick laterally while possessing a fairly wide reach in the backcourt. He brings a relentless motor on the defensive end, flying all over the place on help defense or when crashing the glass. His activity ties into his offensive impact, capable of slashing towards the rim off a backdoor or weak side cut. His continued growth as a perimeter shooter will be necessary to round out his perimeter game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1717299' first='Tristin' last='Fernandez']

Tasked with plenty of ball handling and playmaking opportunities, the guard has shown effectiveness controlling the pace versus pressure. Capable maintaining his balance versus contact, Fernandez plays a vital role in curating Grants' success from the regular season, going 18-12. When provided space in the halfcourt, he is a willing shotmaker in the mid-range, capable of creating space on stepbacks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1717219' first='Tracen' last='Huntsman']

7 PPG

4.4 RPG

36% 3P

A physically imposing complementary shotmaker, Huntsman brings intrigue along the wing knocking down perimeter shot attempts. Up to a dependable percentage behind the arc, his continued growth in volume next season will be an area of intrigue for his development. His size allows him to match up both backcourt positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='2175827' first='Alex' last='Starr']

3.2 PPG

4 RPG

Starr brings disciplined defense at the point of attack or on the help side. Bringing in the size necessary to primarily defend frontcourt opponents, he does well contesting and blocking shots without fouling. Around the rim, Starr is especially active cleaning the glass, wiry strong up against opposing rebounders. He serves as a multi-position defender, capable guard 1 through 3 given his activity at the point of attack. His continued growth as a perimeter shooter will be essential to his offensive potential being realized.

[player_tooltip player_id='2175829' first='Dylan' last='Lansing']

5.3 PPG

3.3 RPG

2.1 APG

46% 3P

5.3 SPG

A high motor guard who energizes this Navajo Prep team each possession. Leading this group in steals per game by a large margin, the guard is quick to jump passing lanes, spearheading fast breaks. As his opportunities continue to progress, Lansing shows signs as a highly impactful starter over the coming seasons.

A variety of score first athletes and multi-positional defenders, these are a few bigger guards who have received varying opportunities throughout the season. Regardless, this group shows upside as impactful varsity players over the coming seasons.
