I wonder if Roosevelt understands the physical tools he brings to the court and how many players wish they had his size and physical profile. He is a lengthy frontcourt player who showed spurts that he can really run the floor when his team was out in transition. He has a decent middle game and is good at getting to his spots on the floor and scoring, as he can shoot over most defenders. He has some bounce and intriguing athleticism and could be a player who can really attract attention from the next level with an off-season of high-level work. His play at times against Britt Basketball had me questioning his motor, but I would like to see him in action again soon.
Matthias Gourdine (5’11/PG/’26/ Montgomery Fire Orange)

Matthias is a small lead guard who doesn’t back down from a challenge, and even though his team struggled against SMB, he kept competing at a high level. He is a scrappy guard and a talented scorer who is good at getting into his middle game and his trey ball off the dribble. Despite being a small PG, Matthias showed his ball handling, passing vision, and court awareness. He had to be more of a score-first PG in the second half as his team needed scoring, but overall, he balanced scoring the rock and facilitating the offense.

After seeing him get going in the 1st half of the game, I was watching, I was shocked that Josh came off the bench. I do understand it is early in the grassroots season, so the coaches may be feeling out their roster. Josh is a lengthy wing who can score the rock at all levels. He is a creator off the bounce and is difficult to contain in iso situations. I was really impressed with one play where he posted a smaller guard and hit him with the turn-around fade-away jumper. You can tell that Josh is an aggressive scorer who likes to put points on the board, and he showed that he can do just that. He is a willing defender, which makes him even more of a player to discuss when college coaches ask me about young players in the state. He has to continue working on reading defenses, and I would like to see him be more vocal because he is a budding talent who could see his stock rise this spring and summer.
David Harrison (6’7/PF/’27/ Pro One UAA)
IG: david__harrison33 / proonebc
David is a lengthy frontcourt player with size who will likely see a couple more inches in his future. His level of play showed he is an emerging prospect with a lot of potential. As expected, he was active on the glass, and on the defensive end of the floor, he used his wingspan to contest shots at the rim. He showed a level of toughness as he is highly competitive. He is instinctive, and even though they are not the quickest, he does have active feet. His offensive game is a work in progress, and it would be beneficial to spend the off-season getting stronger.
Camron Williams Camron Williams 5'10" | PG Auburn | 2025 State AL (5’10/PG/’25/ Auburn Raptors )

Camron is a lead guard who showed his ability to facilitate the offense. He plays at a good pace and under control. He has court awareness and court vision and makes high-end decisions with the rock in his hands. He did a good job beating his man, knifing his way through the defense, and getting two feet in the paint where he either found open teammates or got quality looks for his own shot attempts. He showed wiggle and space-creation skills when he was attacking off the dribble. He will be embarking on his senior campaign next year, so he will need an overall solid off-season to improve his all-around game.
Riley Frye Riley Frye 5'11" | SG Hoover | 2025 State AL (6’0/SG/’25/Magic City Jayhawks)

The eval on Riley is simple: he can shoot the rock. He shot it well from distance in the match-up against the Auburn Raptors . He is headed into his senior year next year, and when I looked at his profile, I saw that he attends Hoover HS. Being familiar with the program, I know that the coaching staff has their hands full trying to see who they will keep on the roster as they are faced with a huge dilemma regarding the number of players in the program and the limited roster spots. Riley should continue working on his outside shooting as he showed that he can get it going and be a player that keeps the floor spaced with his long ball. He needs to get stronger and be more aggressive on the defensive end of the floor.
