Here are some of the best performances by the One and Dones from 1-3A (in alphabetical order):
Calvin Manville, 6-foot-2 forward, 2024, Jefferson County North:
Moundridge steadily pulled away from the Chargers in the opening round contest, but Manville put up a valiant fight. He’s a smooth, long athlete who can score in a variety of ways. He pushed the ball hard up the floor, attacked from the perimeter and also hit from deep. He connected on 7-12 shots to finish with 19, more than half his team’s points.
Loch North Loch North 6'4" | SF Riverton | 2024 State KS , 6-foot-4 forward, 2024, Riverton:
North turned in a really gutsy, tough performance in his final game. He left it all on the floor. He handled the ball a lot against the super athletic defense of Goodland. He also battled in the paint, taking the ball to the goal and scoring through traffic. Riverton put up a spirited fight and North was the leader. He finished with 21 points
Drew Schemper, 6-foot-2 forward, 2024, Northern Valley:
Northern Valley saw another season come to a disappointing end. The three seed was downed by sixth-seeded Lebo in a heartbreaker. Schemper did all he could to help the Huskies, hitting 7-10 shots, including two 3-pointers, and grabbing 9 boards. He’s averaged nearly a double-double all season, and he went down fighting.
Jack Skocny Jack Skocny 6'1" | CG Clifton-Clyde | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-1 guard, 2025, Clifton-Clyde (pictured):
The Eagles were knocked out in the first round, but Skocny showed why he should be considered one of the top guards in the small school ranks next season. The junior blew up for 28 points on 11-15 shooting and 5-7 free throws. He’s a solid ball handler, shooter, passer and leader. And he showed for the second year in a row that he comes up big in big games. He scored 25 in the Eagles first-round loss last year.
Kaden Tilley, 6-foot-3 forward, 2025, Bucklin:
The Red Aces came out of the gate with a bang, scoring 27 first quarter points. They couldn’t keep up that pace, but junior Tilley was huge in keeping the game close. He hit 10-20 shots, including three 3-pointers, and knocked down all 5 of his free throws. He scored 28 points, tied with Skocny for the most of any player who went down in the opening round.
