SF [player_tooltip player_id='2397255' first='Cole' last='Odefey'] (Bettendorf)

Odefey was a solid role player all year for the Bulldogs and displayed his athleticism in the Bulldogs' quarterfinal win over Cedar Falls, delivering arguably the play of the week with his baseline drive and dunk while being fouled. A 6-5 wing with strength, length, and athleticism, he'll make a pretty solid debut in the 2025 rankings when they are updated later this month.

C [player_tooltip player_id='1759895' first='Trevin' last='Jirak'] (Valley)

Jirak already has a pretty lofty ranking in the 2025 class, but his play in the 4A tournament last week was tremendous on both ends of the floor, showing rim protection and defensive versatility as well as the ability to be a primary playmaker on the offensive end. He has really good vision and is a skilled passer who also handles it well for a young big man.

SF [player_tooltip player_id='1759902' first='Kayvion' last='Hodges'] (Assumption)

Few players helped themselves as much last week as Hodges did, as he was tremendous on the defensive end in all three games, limiting a trio of big-time scorers, all with different skill sets. A hyper-athletic 6-2/6-3 wing with great length, he also showed the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim both in transition and in the halfcourt. He posted a double-double in all three games and his play on the defensive end was probably rivaled by only Jirak across all four classes.

PG [player_tooltip player_id='1759900' first='Damyen' last='Jackson'] (Assumption)

Jackson was fantastic all week, showing off his quickness and athleticism throughout the week in leading the Knights to the 3A title. He's always been a guard who thrives when he's using his speed to play downhill and attack the bucket, but he showed more confidence in his jumper, going 7-15 from behind the arc. Obviously it's a small sample size, but if he can turn into a 37-38% shooter from the arc, that will be a huge step in his development.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='2397342' first='Jackson' last='Brown'] (Ballard)

A long 6-1 shooter, Brown had a solid game in Ballard's quarterfinal loss to Assumption, scoring 21 points and going 5-13 from behind the arc. A sharpshooter who moves well without the ball in his hands and has a quick release off the catch, he also does a good job using his length to impact the game on the defensive end, getting into passing lanes and getting deflections. He'll make a pretty strong debut in the 2025 rankings when those are updated later in the month.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='1759945' first='Miles' last='Mudd'] (Ballard)

Another long wing with good size, Mudd is 6-3 and was extremely efficient in the Bombers' loss to Assumption, scoring 17 points on 7-8 shooting, including going 2-3 from the arc. He moves well without the ball in his hands and has a physical frame that he uses to finish around the rim.

SF [player_tooltip player_id='1759905' first='Luke' last='Frazell'] (Waverly-Shell Rock)

The 6-6 wing has been one of the best shooters in the state this season, and he showcased that again last week. He moves really well without the ball in his hands, has a quick release off the catch, and has the size to get to his shot pretty much whenever he wants. The most impressive part of his week, however, was that he was making tough shots - these weren't just easy catch-and-shoot jumpers with nobody in his face.

SF [player_tooltip player_id='1478357' first='Jalen' last='Kirkpatrick'] (Grundy Center)

Grundy Center lost in their first game to Hudson, but Kirkpatrick had a really nice game, scoring 18 points on 7-13 shooting with 9 rebounds. The 6-5/6-6 wing can shoot it well off the catch and has the length to impact the game defensively. He was assertive, looking for his shot, and he can score from all three levels.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='1484412' first='Karsten' last='Moret'] (Western Christian)

Moret was the most potent 3-point shooter in the tournament, in any class, last week, burying 9 3-pointers in the week, and he shot them at a very efficient clip. He's a good athlete with the ball-handling and quickness to get to the rim, and his jumper continues to develop, especially when shooting it off the catch. He'll take another jump up the 2025 rankings later this month.

PF [player_tooltip player_id='1288890' first='Aiden' last='Stensrud'] (Lake Mills)

The 6-5 lefty made the 1A All-Tournament team for his efforts, pounding the glass and showing good footwork and touch around the rim. He has really good hands and is also an impact defender with his blend of size, strength, and length.

SF [player_tooltip player_id='1759939' first='Spencer' last='Roeder'] (Marquette Catholic)

Roeder has been one of the most productive players in 1A all season, but his play at the state tournament was impressive. He had a poor quarterfinal game, but had 18 points and 12 rebounds in the semifinals, and 17 points and 14 rebounds in the championship game. He showed improved ball-handling and playmaking off the dribble, which, when paired with his 6-5 frame, makes him an intriguing prospect moving forward.

PG [player_tooltip player_id='1484418' first='Mason' last='Bechen'] (North Linn)

Bechen was a bulldog throughout the week for the Lynx, earning captain of the 1A All-Tournament team, and we named him the Most Outstanding Player of the week for his play. The 6-2 guard is tough and physical, but also plays with some finesse. He sees the floor really well, embraces contact around the rim, flies all over the floor on the defensive end, and has a knack for taking over games in big moments.

PG [player_tooltip player_id='1381409' first='Jake' last='Edwards'] (Winfield-Mt. Union)

Edwards is a guard with good size and length at 6-4, and he showed that he can knock down contested shots in big moments in WMU's semifinal loss to North Linn. He shoots it well off both the dribble and the catch and has the length to be an impactful defender.
