Continue ReadingSpence is a high motor, slashing, talented forward for the 5A Conference Champion Vilonia Eagles. An extremely athletic player that elevates the players around him through his own play on the court. He covers the court well on both ends, mobile with the ball looking to score aggressively and top effort with nice lateral speed to lock it up on defense. He makes the best out of fast cuts and slashing to the paint for strong dunks and lays inside. Good post-up game featuring more face up play than back to the basket moves. Nice touch and good finishing over defenders down in the lane. Dashun is a rebounding specialist as well, his timing is precise and jumping ability is through the roof. The Eagle forward is a top notch, talented 2024 raw prospect who is unsigned, however, I don’t expect that to last long.
Highlights
Jakobe Jamison
Jakobe Jamison
Jamison is a glue guy for the Raiders, doing whatever is needed to succeed from the court to the locker room. He is a talented G/F that brings a little bit of everything to the game. A good control of body and pace when in the open court and attacking the rim makes him an efficient finisher. A timely shot maker from mid to 3pt range, too. There is no loose ball or rebound he doesn’t think is his, great hustle willing to scrap and dive for the ball. Very good at second jumps and getting back off the floor for another board. Coachable and dependable, listens very well and plays within his strengths. Jakobe can and will score the ball from all three levels and doesn’t need a bunch of shots or control of the ball too much to achieve it. The Raider junior is primed for a big run in the playoffs and into next season.
Easton Boggs
Easton Boggs
The Airedale forward Boggs is a long framed, composed, pure shooter. Whether it’s deep catch and shoot 3s, two dribble pull ups, off the screen jumpers, or step through floaters, he’s got the full bag of skills to knock them all down. Standing at 6’7 rising over defenders for shots comes with ease, but not to take away from his composure while being tightly guarded. Great shooting form, nice lift from the ground with a fluid follow through. Easton is not only a talented shooter, but he can pass the ball very well, finding teammates in seams and kicking out from offensive boards. A break starter known to snag a rebound and swing it up court quickly to put the fastbreak in motion. Only a sophomore, he should lighting it up for a few more years with plenty of potential and upside for major growth.
Jermaine Christopher Jermaine Christopher 6'0" | CG Benton | 2024 AR
Jermaine Christopher Jermaine Christopher 6'0" | CG Benton | 2024 AR
Jermaine is a speedy, smart, and conditioned true point guard. He makes the best out of easy scoring opportunities where he is able to get the defense on their heels and drive downhill for some lays inside and some dump down passes to cutters. He brings real point guard presence he gets teammates in the right spots and makes sure he leads them by example. A shifty player with agility allowing him to change position and direction in a flash. He pressures shooters using his instincts with good on ball defense and good shot contesting on closeouts. The senior wears opponents down being highly conditioned, he doesn’t slow down, on either side of the ball. The Cabot guard is a true point and all-around athlete with his speed, agility, and passing vision but his most underrated aspect is his vertical and jumping ability, a smaller guard who fights for rebounds and wins those battles as well. Christopher is a trustworthy, poised PG that can run your offense at the next level.
Young is a premier two-way talent at the forward position. His defense is immaculate at times, blocks, steals, deflections, lateral quickness, instincts, coordination, nothing on defense that he doesn’t possess. A complete player that checks all the boxes. He finds great positioning on the court that creates space on offense also, he knows what to do with his own space and ball in hand. He can play off ball as equally well as he can with the ball. He’s a solid rebounder that utilizes his body to box out and secure the board. He’s swift off the dribble and an accurate and productive scorer around the rim. RJ can shoot the ball well from mid-range high post area and turns into a slasher if you limit those jump shot opportunities. An extremely capable sophomore with promising aptitude, already such a versatile baller the ceiling is high as ever for the Hornets forward.
