With the recent update of the class of 2024 rankings, we will take a look at how the rankings are broke down by position.

Here's a look at part one of the top guards in the class, ranking #25-#16 of the top shooting guards and small forwards in the rankings.

25) [player_tooltip player_id='2232335' first='Andy' last='Ramirez'] | 6'3” SG | Hayfield (#64 Overall)

Ramirez is a player who had to wait his turn on the back-to-back state champions, but he's come out this year and showed he's one of the top wings in the NOVA area. At 6'3” he has great size and is a smooth athlete who can defend and rebound, he moves off the ball well to get open and is a knock down shooter from deep and he can attack closeouts and finish at the rim too.

24) [player_tooltip player_id='2119799' first='Bryce' last='Breeden'] | 6'3” SG | Madison County (#63 Overall)

Breeden is part of an upstart program at Madison County who has had a lot of success in the past, and he's been nothing short of fantastic for them as the senior leader. The long 6'3” wing is an all-around wing who can knock down shots from deep when he's left open, he can put it on the deck and get downhill where he's a good finisher and he does all the little things with his high motor and high IQ to help his team win.

23) [player_tooltip player_id='1049872' first='Alexander' last='Mostashari'] | 6'4” SG | Fairfax Christian (#62 Overall)

Mostashari transferred back home after spending the last year in North Carolina, and he adds even more firepower to a Fairfax Christian team that is the favorite to win another VISAA D3 State Championship. The 6'4” guard is a sniper from deep who moves well and has a quick release, he has a good IQ and makes the right play consistently and he's a good help side defender as well.

22) [player_tooltip player_id='1759752' first='Malcolm' last='Stute'] | 6'2” SG | Episcopal (#61 Overall)

Stute has been a player who has gotten better and better every year he's been at Episcopal, and he's developed into one of the top shooters in the NOVA area. The 6'2” off guard is a confident shooter from deep with good range and he works well off the ball to get open, he's a good secondary ball handler and playmaker and he is a good defender with a good IQ too.

21) [player_tooltip player_id='1948390' first='Ben' last='Wesson'] | 6'4” SG | Albemarle (#60 Overall)

Wesson is having a huge year for Albemarle and is arguably the best player in public school basketball in Charlottesville, and has Albemarle looking to make another deep run in the state tournament. The 6'4” two guard checks the boxes with his size and athleticism, he is a dead eye shooter from deep who has in the gym range and he can create his own shot or work off the ball to get open as well.

20) [player_tooltip player_id='1259621' first='Dominique' last='Bailey'] | 6'2” SG | John Marshall (#59 Overall)

The Chowan commit has been a big part of JM's back-to-back state championships over the last two years, and he's the type of player that you're glad is on your team and you don't have to face. He's a gritty blue-collar type of player who really thrives defensively with his ability to lock down the other team's best player, he does all the dirty work and makes the hustle plays and he picks his spots and scores it in different ways when he needs to.

19) [player_tooltip player_id='2148864' first='Rodney' last='Ekwoanya'] | 6'5” SF | Evergreen Christian (#51 Overall)

Ekwoanya has been a big reason for the emergence of Evergreen Christian as a good program in NOVA over the last two years, and he's a high upside prospect with a lot of potential moving forward. He is a big wing who is a big time athlete who can get downhill and play above the rim, he plays with a high motor and good toughness on both ends of the floor and he is productive across the board consistently.

18) [player_tooltip player_id='1259626' first='David' last='Rochester'] | 6'6” SG | South Lakes (#46 Overall)

Rochester joined an already talented team at South Lakes this year, and the 6'6” Brown commit has helped make them a favorite in Class 6 this year. He's a unique prospect who can do a little bit of everything at his size whether it's knocking down shots from deep, getting to spots for the pull-up or getting to the rim it makes him a tough mismatch for pretty much anyone.

17) [player_tooltip player_id='1618939' first='Dakota' last='Sellers'] | 6'4” SG | Carmel School (#41 Overall)

Sellers is a very intriguing prospect who has a ton of potential moving forward as he's an elite athlete who has mostly played in the post until he transferred to Carmel this year. The 6'4” guard has improved in his ability to knock down shots from deep off the catch, he gets downhill aggressively and looks to play above the rim and he's an excellent rebounder for his position as well.

16) [player_tooltip player_id='1259635' first='Kyan' last='Bowman'] | 6'4” SF | St. Stephen's St. Agnes (#40 Overall)

Bowman takes a big leap in the rankings this time as he's having a great senior season leading a very good but young SSSAS squad. He's a natural leader who has a great work ethic and holds his teammates accountable, he is a strong wing who is physical on both ends of the floor, he's an efficient scorer and he has a very high IQ on both ends of the floor.
