Seeding in the district tournaments, for one, is something the public schools in each classification are thinking about. For the private schools, it’s all about winning the league and grabbing the No. 1 seed, landing an opportunity to host a playoff game.
With that being said, many prospects across the state performed well.
Here’s the best from this week:
Emerson Tenner, Cordova: Tenner had 30 points in a win over Southwind. Julius Thedford finished with 21.
Jordan Allen, Hillcrest: Allen had 38 points and 11 assists in a win over City University. Xavier Herron added 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Cortez Graham and Arnez Anderson, Hillsboro: Both prospects reached 1,000 points.
Garrett Giles, Oak Ridge: Giles reached 1,000 points back in December.
Clay Payne, University School of Nashville: Payne had 24 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and a block in a win over Webb School.
Gabe Davenport, Columbia Academy: Davenport had 27 points, converting on 6 of 9 shots from 3, in a win over Battle Ground Academy.
Jacob Walker, FACS: Walker led the Crusaders with 27 points in a win over Harding Academy. MJ Hayes and Antonio McGaughey both had 16. Kris Carroll and Cello Jackson each added 10.
Cam Blivens, Lipscomb Academy: Blivens had 29 points in a win over Pope John Paul II. Myles Sydney added 21.
Fred Bailey, Pope John Paul II: Bailey had 24 points against Lipscomb Academy. Trey Pearson added 20 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and a steal.
Maguire Evans, Cleveland: Evans reached 1,000 career points this week. He also had 21 points, 4 steals, and 2 rebounds in a win over Bradley.
Jay Dancey, Munford: Dancey had 15 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals in a win over Millington Central.
Reid Conley, Chattanooga Christian School: Conley reached 1,000 points this week.
Robert Dawkins, MHEA: Dawkins had 14 points in an overtime win against Christian Brothers. Andrew Thomas added 10. Caleb Thomas had 12 points in a 62-46 win over Marked Tree in the Small Town Country Classic.
Osby Cavin, Pope John Paul II: Cavin had 20 points in a win over Father Ryan.
Charlie Lynch, Father Ryan: Lynch had 28 points against Pope John Paul II.
Noah Major, Friendship Christian: Major had 15 points in win over Ezell Harding. Colby Jones finished with 12.
Taveon Comage, Webb: Comage reached 1,000 points in a loss to the University School of Nashville.
Jeremiah Hayes, Fayette Ware: Hayes had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, and a block in a loss to Bolivar Central. Demarius Chearis added 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Tarecous Stevens provided 8 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals.
Cooper Abner, Westmoreland: Abner had 20 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to White House-Heritage.
Cade Capps, Stone Memorial: Capps had 40 points in a win over Livingston Academy. Brady Lane added 17. Preston Mayberry pitched in 15 points.
Tyler Tanner, Brentwood Academy: Tanner had 51 points in a win over CPA.
Mason Brown, Central Magnet: Brown had 20 points in a win over Tullahoma. Garrett Florida added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Carson Wood also finished with 14 points. Jake Maddox provided 11 points and 16 rebounds.
Ty Cobb, Upperman: Cobb had 31 points, 7 steals, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds in a win over Livingston Academy.
Trae Rideau, Clarksville Academy: Rideau had 32 points in a win over Davidson Academy. Cameron Phillips added 17. Marcell Jackson provided 12.
Tyler Lee, Fulton: Lee and Denaj Kimber both had 19 points in a win over Austin-East.
Jahvin Carter, Alcoa: Carter had 32 points in a win over Austin-East. Jamir Dean added 24.
Shane Cherry and Condis Cherry, Austin-East: Both prospects had 16 points against Alcoa.
Ryland McKelvy, Centennial: McKelvy had 17 points in a win over Nolensville.
Nazir Allen, Power Center Academy: Allen had 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks in a win over Hamilton. Marquis Tunstall finished with 17 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Jayden Baker added 14 points and 4 rebounds.
Keelon Johnson, Sacred Heart: Johnson had 15 points in a loss to Jackson Christian School. Bren McKinnie added 12.
AJ Morman, Sacred Heart: Morman had 26 points in a loss to the University School of Jackson. Andre Bell finished with 18.
Savion Anderson, City University: Anderson had 16 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal in a win over Westwood.
Ayden Melton, Camden Central: Melton had 39 points against Stewart County.
Nathan Dillingham, Fairview: Dillingham had 34 points and 7 rebounds in a win over Creek Wood. Mays McCoy added 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Bryce Embry provided 10 points, a rebound, and a steal.
Tylan Lewis, Independence: Lewis had 21 points in a win over Franklin. Korben Walling added 17. Jett Montgomery provided 14.
Christian Brown, Franklin: Brown had 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks against Independence. Davis Long added 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Daniel Cochran, Brentwood: Cochran had 15 points in an overtime loss to Nolensville. Davis Cochran added 14. Nicholas Degnan provided 11.
Ty Glasper, Gatlinburg-Pittman: Glasper had 21 points in a loss to Alcoa. Wade Whaley added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Roger Matute also finished with 12 points.
Rhett Broussard, Goodpasture: Broussard had 27 points, connecting on 9 3-pointers, in a win against Nashville Christian.
Grayson Scragg, Donelson Christian Academy: Scragg had 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals against Goodpasture.
Zane Restelli, Baylor: Restelli had 16 points in a win over Knoxville Webb. Nyziah Whaley added 12.
R’Chaun King, Bartlett: King had 21 points in a loss to Cordova.
Justin Frison, Houston: Frison and Kylan Clark each had 15 points in a win over Collierville. Keron Jackson finished with 14. Kaleb Jeffries added 12.
Elijah Lussier, Collierville: Lussier had 14 against Houston. Ayden Harris added 12.
