The Friday Metro Combo. Tonight is the perfect night to catch two in the metro. Start at Cretin-Derham Hall at Roseville which is listed as a 5:30pm start, and when that game is over head to South Minneapolis and go watch Cooper at Minneapolis Southwest.
It’s Raiders vs Raiders and the first time they played, the purple won by 28 with four guys in double digits (Joseph Mitchell led with 17). CDH just lost two close games to good teams so they will not travel to Roseville overlooking anything. At 12-8 Roseville is no push over, they just beat Anoka. Junior Noah George Noah George 6'2" | PG Roseville Area | 2025 State MN leads Roseville.
After that game is over, head south on your favorite road and see Cooper and Southwest. Senior Chance Wicks Chance Wicks 6'0" | SG Robbinsdale Cooper | 2024 State MN and his 17 a game lead Cooper while Liam Farniok Liam Farniok 6'3" | SG Minneapolis Southwest | 2024 State MN leads the Lakers with 24 a contest.
Weekend’s Best. Shakopee vs Minnetonka is the game of the weekend. And there will be so so many guards. Sounds like Jordan Cain Jordan Cain 6'3" | SF Minnetonka | 2024 State MN and his 19 points a game will be out. Or at least was injured, or got injured in the last contest.
Andy Stefonowicz Andy Stefonowicz 6'2" | PG Minnetonka | 2024 State MN vs Isaac Cordes Isaac Cordes 6'0" | PG Shakopee | 2025 State MN . The playmakers. Andy’s name is more known but neither of these guys is a flashy, boisterous type player. They are guys that never change expression and keep working to keep their team at the top five in the state.
Isa El-Amin Isa El-Amin 5'7" | PG Minnetonka | 2025 State MN vs Isaac Snell. Snell is the second leading Shakopee scorer, El-Amin is the bench scorer that will likely start into the Skipper first five. Different players but good players.
Greyson Uelmen Greyson Uelmen 6'2" | PG Minnetonka | 2024 State MN vs Jalen Langsy Jalen Langsy 5'11" | PG Shakopee | 2024 State MN . The leading scorers. Both are guys that can handle some but their teams need them to score. If one of these guys slips from the norm, especially with Cain out, their teams could slip. But if one of them goes off, that could mean a win.
Duke Richardson Duke Richardson 6'2" | CG Minnetonka | 2025 State MN vs Eli Schroeder Eli Schroeder 6'1" | SG Shakopee | 2025 State MN . Junior shooters that score in that 9-10 a game range and they were AAU teammates with Minnesota Select .
Kayden Wells Kayden Wells 6'6" | PF Minnetonka | 2024 State MN vs Luke Wherley Luke Wherley 6'5" | SF Shakopee | 2025 State MN . This is the size. Neither is a true five but both players will rebound, play some post defense, and score. Wells is more of an active scorer, Wherley can do that but he’s also a skilled guy too as a junior.
Bang For the Buck. This weekend the state adds another border battle, this time as Minnesota vs North Dakota. The games will be in Moorhead tomorrow and it’s five boys teams from Minnesota playing five from ND (two girls games as well).
The event is called the Red River Round Up and it will have:
Central Cass vs Hawley (should be good)
Bismarck Century vs Fergus Falls (Century should roll)
Fargo Davies vs Osseo (toss up)
DeLaSalle vs Fargo North (De should win)
Moorhead vs West Fargo (not sure)
