Tuscarora and Broad Run played a terrific game on Tuesday. Both teams were great offensively, and Tusky was able to win this game in overtime. Jayden Johnson Jayden Johnson 6’1″ | CG Tuscarora | 2024 State VA was recently named the Dulles District player of the year, and this game was his most impressive performance. Jayden is a high-level shooter and a three-level scorer. He was unstoppable Vs. Broad Run and finished with 34 points and 10 rebounds. Timing is everything; great players like Jayden elevate themselves in big moments.
Potomac Falls had a rough night shooting the ball from 3 against Harrisonburg. What they did well is they did some great work on the offensive glass and scored many points in the paint. David Marshall David Marshall 6’3″ | PF Potomac Falls | 2024 State VA did both to a tee and bullied his way into a double-double. David finished with 13 and 10, and he really could have had more, missing 7 free throws. David had some great moves posting and facing up. He also had a tremendous day on defense, and his intensity on that end was huge to Pot Falls’s stifling defense. David is an excellent athlete, and his skill and energy were huge in Pot Falls winning a close game.
Another player who had a great day on the offensive glass was Colby Margenau Colby Margenau 6’7″ | SF Potomac Falls | 2024 State VA . Colby had a rough day at the free throw and 3-point lines, but he still had a highly productive game. He had a few putbacks and had a nice day scoring inside. Colby had some great takes and made up for a night he couldn’t find his range. He finished with a team-high 17.

Hayfield always seems to play their best ball this time of the year, and they showed up again against Alexandria City. Alex McFarlane Alex McFarlane 6’5″ | SG Hayfield | 2025 State VA had a great game from start to finish, and his first-half play helped keep Hayfield in a game they did not start out great in. Alex is a plus defender with great size and a good shooter. Alex did not have a great game shooting from 3, but he still found ways to score effectively, finishing with 22, leading all scorers.
Andy Ramirez Andy Ramirez 6’3″ | SG Hayfield | 2024 State VA has been lights out for Hayfield over the past few weeks, and he had another clutch performance vs. Alexandria City.
