Tim Franks Tim Franks 6'5" | SG Homestead | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SG – Homestead
Franks carried Homestead in the second half and nearly helped the Highlanders pull off a massive victory. The St. Thomas commit scored 19 of his team-high 27 points after halftime. Franks was 10-of-21 from the field and also grabbed 10 rebounds. It’s been widely known that Franks is one of the state’s premier 3-point shooters with the ability to use his 6-foot-5 frame down on the block. Think he’s vastly improved in the mid-range, based on what transpired Saturday. Thought Franks looked really good mixing in that one, two-dribble jumper and shooting on the move — something that was a chink in his armour previously. Whether or not Franks is a big scorer at the Division 1 level is TBD, but he’s a competitor, a winner, and a kid that does everything right on the basketball floor. Even if he were to never play a minute, he’s the type of player you love to have in your program because he’s going to make his teammates better and demand they match his level.
Owen Hake Owen Hake 6'2" | CG Pewaukee | 2024 State WI – 2024 – G – Pewaukee
Hake just made big plays for the Pirates down the stretch. Without the senior guard, Pewaukee very well could have been staring at its third loss of the season. In a competitive back and forth battle, Hake was steady and poised throughout. He scored 12 points on 4-of-7. While he was just 1-of-3 from 3-point range, the triple Hake hit was a huge one and took a lot of stones with under a minute to play that all but sealed the deal. Hake does a lot of stuff that doesn’t show up in the box score as well. He’s a sound defender, runs Pewaukee’s stuff offensively, and screens for his guards to get them open.
Nick Janowski Nick Janowski 6'3" | SG Pewaukee | 2024 State #126 Nation WI – 2024 – G – Pewaukee
It was a big night for Janowski. Not only because he scored 45 points on just 21 shots, but the Nebraska commit also became the school’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing his longtime teammate Milan Momcilovic. You knew Janowski had it going right away, scoring his team’s first 11 points, including a couple of tough, contested step-backs. When it was time to take over late, Janowski converted a pair of three-point plays and dished out two assists in crunch time. I wouldn’t describe Janowski as solely an isolation scorer, but when he gets a defender on an island, he’ll just hit you with counter after counter and fake after fake unitl you make a mistake. Janowski didn’t get a lot of calls, but was so good at playing in traffic and through contact on Saturday. The lefty has a mean step-back game, shows no hesitation or fumbles with his elite on-the-ball moves, and just plays with a relentless, attacking mentality that can’t be shut off.
Trevor Poite – 2025 W- Homestead
Polite continues to get better each time I see him. Generally, it’s been flashes with the 6-foot-6 wing. On Saturday, I’d say there was a lot more substance and consistency to go along with said flashes. Polite has developed and often turned to a fallaway game when he got stuck or cut off. Polite played a lot of point wing and Pewaukee had some trouble matchup up with him. He was too quick and athletic for the forwards and too big for the guards. While Polite was a little streaky from 3-point range and probably forced some stuff, the ball is looking real good off his hands right now. Still a multi-dimensional wing that dabbles in all areas, Polite is a kid that can lead Homestead in just about any statistical category on any given night. Defensively is where I think he could really shine in college as well. Polite guarded 1-through-4 on Saturday, including the Nebraska commit Janowski.
