Centreville visited Chantilly for the first round of the Concorde District Tourney. Ivan unfortunately had his day cut short because of an injury, but I liked what I saw from him when he was in. Ivan does well as a driver, scorer, and facilitator. Ivan is their primary ball handler, and he helps make this offense run smoothly.
Ved Desai
Ved Desai
Ved Desai had a great game, scoring inside and out. He took advantage of a smaller Centreville team by scoring in the paint. He also knocked down some jump shots to finish with a game-high 18 points. Chantilly gets contributions from many people, and today, Ved was the most significant contributor.
Chantilly dominated the second half of this game, and Senior Tyler Swindell Tyler Swindell 6’4″ | PF Chantilly | 2024 State VA played a big part. Tyler did excellent work inside on the offensive glass and knocked down a couple of open looks. Tyler has a nice size for a guard, and his offense picking up later in this game went a long way to Chantilly taking control of this game.
The theme for me, for this Centreville roster and their whole season, is that they are a young team. They lose a lot of close games, and part of that might be because they are young. While they are young, they do have some talented players. One of those players is Freshman Guard Soren Kyne Soren Kyne 6’0″ | CG Centreville | 2027 State VA . Soren had a huge second quarter and did a great job finishing around the rim and through contact. Soren is an aggressive driver, a good athlete, and a spark plug. He is someone to watch going forward. Soren finished with 13.
Junior Guard Jack Siwert Jack Siwert 6’2″ | SG Centreville | 2025 State VA is a terrific shooter. He has a fast release and is almost automatic when he has a clean catch-and-shoot opportunity. Jack knocked down four threes and finished with 12 points. Jack has good size for a guard and will play a big part in what will be a much improved Centreville next season record-wise.
Jaxson Davis Jaxson Davis 6’0″ | PG Centreville | 2025 State VA got off to a slow start in this game but picked it up as the game went on. He hit some tough shots and showed off his three-level scoring ability. Jaxson is one of my favorite players to watch and one of the most underrated players in NOVA. His ball handling is fantastic. He’s very shifty and is a creative finisher. Jaxson finished with 21.
Westfield has many talented Sophomores, one of whom is Mathias Lee Mathias Lee 6’6″ | SF Westfield | 2026 State VA . Westfield hosted Oakton in Round 1 of the Concorde District Tournament, and Mathias led all scorers with 14. Mathias is a good athlete and has great size. He can impact games on both ends and be effective without the ball. He does great work as an offensive rebounder and is a solid player.
