As of time of writing, the following schools had not put their box scores into Bound and none of their players will be included in this article: North Mahaska, Bedford, South Winneshiek, St. Edmond, North Union, Bishop Garrigan.
2026 SF Cal Heydon Cal Heydon 6'4" | SF Coon Rapids-Bayard | 2026 State IA (Coon Rapids-Bayard)
Heydon’s performance came in a losing effort, but the 6-4 wing was really good against Madrid, finishing with 17 points on 7-12 shooting (2-4 3P, 1-2 FT) to go with 12 rebounds. He’s an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on for the next few years, with his ability to score from all three levels, defend multiple positions, and create off the dribble.
2024 PF Drew Denekas Drew Denekas 6'2" | PF George-Little Rock | 2024 State IA (George-Little Rock)
Another strong performance in a losing effort came from the 6-4 Denekas, who scored 18 of G-LR’s 39 points in their narrow loss to St. Mary’s. He concludes a really good high school career with a fitting showing, showcasing his touch around the rim, footwork, and a little bit of ability to step out and stretch the floor, knocking down a pair of 3s.
2025 C Collin Homan Collin Homan 6'5" | PF Remsen, St. Mary's | 2025 State IA (St. Mary’s, Remsen)
Denekas’ counterpart from St. Mary’s, Homan had a nice game for the Hawks, leading them in scoring at 16 points on 6-14 shooting to go with 6 rebounds. He was money at the line, going 4-4 from the charity stripe, important points in a game decided by just 3 points.
2025 C Michael Boyd Michael Boyd 6'4" | PF Gladbrook-Reinbeck | 2025 State IA (Gladbrook-Reinbeck)
The Rebels had their way with Keota in the painted area during their win, outrebounding the Eagles 32-20, and the 6-5 Boyd was a major reason why. He was fantastic, scoring 25 points on 11-15 shooting to go with 14 rebounds and 4 assists. He has great touch around the rim, soft hands, and makes great contact on his box outs.
2025 PF Drew Eilers Drew Eilers 6'3" | PF Gladbrook-Reinbeck | 2025 State IA (Gladbrook-Reinbeck)
Eilers wasn’t as active on the glass as Boyd in G-R’s win, but he was just as good offensively, scoring 17 points on 7-12 shooting with 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. The 6-3 big man forms a “twin towers” look with Boyd, making the Rebels a formidable foe at the 1A level.
2025 SF Luke Hellige Luke Hellige 6'5" | SG Holy Trinity Catholic | 2025 State IA (Holy Trinity Catholic)
Tucked down in Fort Madison, Hellige is a bit of an unknown around the state, but he has put together a fantastic season and it continued with a dominant performance against North Mahaska. The 6-4 wing scored 24 points on 6-12 shooting (3-8 3P, 9-12 FT) to go with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. He has good size and length on the wing, can create off the dribble, and shoots it really well off the catch.
2024 F Cade Wierck Cade Wierck 6'6" | PF Ankeny Christian | 2024 State IA (Ankeny Christian)
Wierck’s performance came in a losing effort, as the Eagles dropped one to West Fork to end their season, but the final game of his high school career was another good one. The 6-6 combo forward had 17 points on 7-12 shooting (1-3 3P, 2-2 FT) to go with 9 rebounds and 2 blocks, showing a little bit of everything that he can do on both ends of the floor.
2025 F Spencer Roeder Spencer Roeder 6'5" | PF Maquette Catholic | 2025 State IA (Marquette Catholic)
Roeder was dominant in the Defenders’ blowout win over crosstown rival Bellevue, scoring 24 points on 9-17 shooting, including going 4-6 from the arc. He also had 13 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, and a block, for good measure. A 6-5 combo forward who has improved his ball-handling and playmaking over the last year, he’s a really good shooter with a pure stroke off both the dribble and the catch.
2024 F Ty Pflughaupt Ty Pflughaupt 6'4" | SF North Linn | 2024 State IA (North Linn)
The future Upper Iowa wing was extremely efficient in North Linn’s blowout win over Waterloo Christian, scoring 20 points on 9-12 shooting, including going 2-3 from the arc. He also had 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, and a block. At 6-5/6-6 and with length to burn, he impacts the game in a major way on both ends of the floor, making an impact on nearly every possession in some way, shape, or form.
2024 C Klayton Van Dyke Klayton Van Dyke 6'5" | PF Lynnville-Sully | 2024 State IA (Lynnville-Sully)
ACGC was a popular upset pick over the Hawks on Tuesday night, but Van Dyke and company made sure that wasn’t going to happen. The 6-6 forward was dominant, scoring 21 points on 10-13 shooting to go with 11 rebounds, including 5 offensive. He’s a mobile big who can protect the paint, control the glass, and he has great touch and good footwork around the rim.
2024 PF Cam Buffington Cam Buffington 6'2" | PF Winfield-Mt. Union | 2024 State IA (Winfield-Mt. Union)
The future Iowa linebacker was dominant in the Wolves’ comeback win over Notre Dame, scoring 26 points on 11-17 shooting to go with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. He’s an eye-popping athlete who can control the game inside the painted area on both ends of the floor with his bounce, physicality, and talent.
2025 PF Aiden Stensrud Aiden Stensrud 6'6" | PF Lake Mills | 2025 State IA (Lake Mills)
A tough, physical forward with great hands and soft touch, Stensrud was business as usual in Lake Mills’ win over Bishop Garrigan, scoring 15 points on 6-7 shooting to go with 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
