Bobcats Pull Away Late to Move Onto Second Round
The 3rd-Place Team in Class AAA Region 3, Broome, travelled to Seneca, South Carolina to take on the 2nd-Place Bobcats of Class AAA Region 1. Seneca got out to a quick start as 8th Grade Point Guard Jeremiah Hunter Jeremiah Hunter 5'7" | PG Seneca | 2028 SC assisted the first 3 made field goals, Cameron O’Kelley Cameron O’Kelley 6'3" | CG Seneca | 2024 State SC scored 8 points, and Stu Finley hit two threes, sending them up 16-5 with less than four minutes played. However, they were much sloppier scoring just 16 points over the remaining 12 minutes of the half. During that time, Broome did a great job of being active in the paint and getting to the free throw line, particularly from Kamajay Brackett-Brannon and Ja’Coreyun Broadus. Finley hit two more threes early in the third quarter, but Brackett-Brannon matched every Bobcat to keep the Centurions close heading to the fourth. However, Seneca held Broome to just one made field goal in the first 5 1/2 minutes of the final period and got very bright minutes from their Hunter as well as Chaz Moss Chaz Moss 6'5" | C Seneca | 2027 State SC , who made an impact around both rims and even stretched out with a made three as Seneca sealed their First Round win.
