The Vikings perfect season is still intact after playing 3 games in 3 days all on the road. The wild thing is that their best player was a freshman. When Kindred really needed big plays, they came from a 9th grader! [player_tooltip player_id='1484338' first='Brooks' last='Bakko'] was simply sensational, he made play after play in huge moments. In the 4Winds game, Brooks kept the Vikings within striking distance and he delivered down the stretch. The scary thing about the Vikings is, if you take away one of the studs, someone else is going to step up.

#2 Four Winds-Minnewaukan (9-3)

Scores: W 80-41 Dunseith, W 71-37 Turtle Mountain, W 48-45 Kindred

Next: 1/26 home vs. Thompson

The Indians have 3 losses but two of those came at the start of the year when they were not healthy and [player_tooltip player_id='1144580' first='Deng' last='Deng'] was out. Once the UND football commit came back, 4Winds has looked excellent. Their signature win of the season came against Devils Lake on their home court. This past week, the Indians had Kindred down by double-digits in the second half and it looked like they might walk away with it. You have to give Kindred credit for the comeback. At the same time, 4Winds made some big plays in the 4th quarter as well. On a side note, I noticed [player_tooltip player_id='1363917' first='Marial' last='Deng'] is back playing and healthy. He is long, a serious athlete, and he nailed a clutch 3 in the Kindred game. It looks like the Indians only have one game this week and then next week, they have a monster game at Grafton on 2/4.

#3 Devils Lake (10-1)

Scores: W 72-50 Thompson, W 77-56 Shiloh Christian, W 84-48 Beulah

Next: 1/22 at Carrington

The Firebirds stayed hot this past week and won BIG in every game. Devils Lake is long and athletic. They have STARS & STUDS but they are also deep with hustlers, role players, and positive teammates. The Devils Lake leaders are [player_tooltip player_id='1411320' first='Wylee' last='Delorme'] with 19.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 3.4 apg, and 2.3 spg, and [player_tooltip player_id='1750475' first='Parker' last='Brodina'] with 16.8 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 3.2 apg, and 2.4 spg. The Firebirds hit the road tonight and should come away with an easy victory at Carrington.

#4 Grafton (9-1)

Scores: W 88-34 Thief River, W 91-34 Carrington

Next: 1/23 home vs. Hillsboro-Central Valley

Grafton dominated, they certainly spoiled the night when they played the Prowlers and Cardinals. Grafton has as much firepower as anyone in Class A. They showed that they could compete with the best when they gave Devils Lake all that they could handle. [player_tooltip player_id='1168246' first='Braylon' last='Baldwin'], [player_tooltip player_id='1481873' first='Juan' last='Villarreal'], [player_tooltip player_id='1168256' first='Ryan' last='Hanson'], [player_tooltip player_id='1770389' first='Kyler' last='Droog'], [player_tooltip player_id='1770392' first='Abram' last='Sevigny'], [player_tooltip player_id='1632619' first='Reggie' last='Rice'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1632630' first='Brody' last='Lillemoen'] make a scary squad.

#5 Beulah (8-2)

Scores: W 57-32 Stanley, W 75-72 Central Cass, L 84-48 Devils Lake

Next: 1/23 home vs. Dickinson Trinity

The Miners took care of business against Stanley, I watched part of that game and it seemed like Beulah could do no wrong. They were scalding hot in the first half and shot the lights out. They followed that up with a nice 3-point win over the former Class B State Champions, Central Cass. They ran into a buzz saw on Saturday also known as Devils Lake. The Miners top players are [player_tooltip player_id='1144977' first='Trace' last='Beauchamp'] 18.8 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 3.1 apg, and [player_tooltip player_id='1355920' first='Braylen' last='Schirado'] 15 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 4.1 apg. Tomorrow night, the Miners host the Titans for an exciting rivalry game.
