Alex Chaikin Alex Chaikin 6'4" | SG Trinity Episcopal | 2024 State VA | 6’4” WG | Trinity Episcopal
Chaikin came into his senior season with the reputation as one of the top shooters in the Richmond area, and he’s followed up with that putting up big numbers so far this season. The 6’4” wing has good size with good length that allows him to get his shot off, he’s constantly moving off the ball and hunting shots, he can make shots from well beyond the line on the move and he can attack closeouts and is a solid finisher at the rim too.
Jamari Garnett Jamari Garnett 6'3" | SG Life Christian Academy | 2024 State VA | 6’2” WF | Life Christian Academy
Garnett is one of those players that may not look the part of his position as he’s a stocky wing who looks like an undersized post player, but he is a walking mismatch with his skillset and strength. The 6’2” wing can score the ball from all three levels and get hot from deep that causes problems, he can use his size to bully smaller wings in the post and he’s just consistently productive as both a scorer and a rebounder too.
Maurice Davis Maurice Davis 6'5" | SF James River | 2024 State VA | 6’5” PF | James River
If you’re a small school looking for a glue guy that impacts winning, look no further than Davis who is a Swiss-army knife at the forward position. At 6’5” he can handle the ball well for his size and makes great decisions hitting shooters and cutter in stride for easy shots, he can work in the paint on post ups and is a good rebounder on the offensive glass and he can step out to the elbows where he can initiate the offense and knock down shots too.
Kevin Lucas | 5’11” PG | Manchester
Lucas is the leader of a talented Manchester team this year and coming off a big summer with Team Richmond has made a name for himself with some college coaches. He’s a highly skilled guard who can shoot the ball from 30 feet with relative ease, he is shifty off the bounce and gets to spots in the midrange and touches the paint as a finisher and he’s a competitor who brings it on both ends no matter who he’s matched up with.
Jordan Clayton | 6’2” CG | Dinwiddie
Clayton is a late bloomer who is putting up huge numbers for Dinwiddie this season, and it makes sense as he plays with a fire that you don’t see from many players especially at the guard position. The 6’2” combo is strong and athletic as he gets downhill aggressively and will go right through the chest to score, he can knock down shots from the midrange off the catch and he’s very good at forcing turnovers and getting easy buckets in transition in doing so.
MJ Winstead | 6’0” PG | Benedictine
While Benedictine may be down this year, Winstead has impressed so far showing he’s one of the most skilled guards in the Richmond area and has a lot of qualities you would look for in a point guard. He’s a natural floor general who gets his team into sets and makes everyone on the team better, he doesn’t turn it over and makes good decisions, he can score it efficiently and makes shots from deep while also setting the tone on the defensive end.
