Bradley Bourbonnais led most of the way thanks to the play of their star junior winning 56-42. Who stood out in this one? We look at just that in Top Performers: Bradley Bourbonnais vs Lincoln Way East!
Nick Allen Nick Allen 6'9" | C Bradley Bourbonnais | 2025 State IL (Bradley Bourbonnais – 2025)
Allen is one of the best posts in the state’s 2025 class and he showed again why in this game. At 6’10” he is a legit low post five man that brings size and skill to the table. Nifty reverse layup to open followed by a big dunk out of the dunker spot. Really like his right handed hook shot which he went to on multiple occasions in this contest displaying touch on it. Also had an offensive rebound and lefty hook for an and-1. Sealed well in the post for scores. Best play was a take off a dribble handoff from the elbow for a bucket. Dominant on the glass all night long. High points them in traffic and owned the defensive boards. Went for 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 blocks in the win.
Anthony Kemp Anthony Kemp 6'2" | SG Bradley Bourbonnais | 2024 State IL (Bradley Bourbonnais – 2024)
Kemp is a player that we have severely underestimated and will get a nice bump in the final 2024 rankings. Athletic and skilled wing made plays all night long in this one. Straight line takes off the bounce finishing through contact. Got in on the offensive glass for several put backs. His euro step was on point in this one for slick finishes. Very good finisher at the cup when attacking off the bounce. Good wing defender as well. He had 17 points. Small colleges should definitely get involved.
Brandon Harris and Ethan Kohl (Bradley Bourbonnais – 2024)
This senior duo in the backcourt were rock solid all game long. Each of them hit a pair of threes in this one along with being solid handling the rock against the defense of LWE. Harris had 10 points while Kohl notched 9 points.
Karson Thomas Karson Thomas 6'4" | SF Lincoln Way East | 2026 State IL (Lincoln Way East – 2026)
Thomas is primed for a big jump in next weeks 2026 rankings update. Strong and powerful wing that can attack with athleticism. Explosive takes along the baseline, post ups, and hit the glass. Good jump shooter as well especially from mid-range, but can stretch it out to three as he did late on a shot where he got hurt on the landing. Two way wing with tremendous upside long term! He had 20 points.
Brendan Sanders Brendan Sanders 6'3" | SF Lincoln Way East | 2025 State IL (Lincoln Way East – 2025)
Sanders flashed early in this one! He had a pair of threes in the game displaying a clean looking stroke. Also maybe the dunk of the game when he took it from the wing and powered it in during the opening minutes of the contest finishing with 8 points.
BJ Powell (Lincoln Way East – 2026)
Powell is a shifty scoring lead guard who had it cooking early scoring 6 of his 8 points in the first quarter. Got loose in transition, scoop shot off the bounce, and got to the rim with his tight handles. Forced a lot of tough perimeter jumpers that did not fall. Flashed as a passer in the half court.
