SEPA Mid-January Recruiting Update

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Below is a review of the latest happenings on the recruiting scene in southeastern Pennsylvania (and beyond).</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><u>SEPA Recruiting News</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1484308' first='Quadri' last='Bashiru'] </strong><strong>– 6'9″ / 2025 / Hill School / PSA Cardinals / Center:</strong> Earlier this season Bashiru received an offer from Bucknell, and it is easy to understand why. In 2023-24 Bashiru has displayed significantly improved offensive skills and he remains an interior defensive force. Last week he posted 12 points in a win over Blair Academy (NJ).</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1941211' first='Pierce' last='Blackwell'] </strong><strong>– 6'0″ / 2026 / Rocktop Academy / BW Elite / Combo Guard:</strong> This dead-eye perimeter shooter with secondary ball handling skills announced on social media that he has departed Friends Select School and has enrolled at Rocktop Academy.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1990922' first='Jacob' last='Hudson'] </strong><strong>– 6'3″ / 2024 / Phelps School / JL3 EYBL / Combo Guard:</strong> Hudson is a “big guard” with a quick first step and excellent lateral quickness. This season he is averaging 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per contest. He just received an offer from Iona.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1865248' first='Will' last='Riley'] </strong><strong>– 6'7” / 2025 / Phelps School / UPlay Canada / Wing:</strong> The soon to be No. 1 ranked 2025 prospect (currently sits at No. 2) continues to post astonishing numbers. Last month he posted two 40+ point games. Now in early January, Riley (26.7 ppg.; 1,000+ point scorer) has recorded multiple 30-point games. Riley holds over a dozen DI offers and just added one from Missouri. He also has scheduled an official visit to Auburn for early March.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Gabe Tanner </strong><strong>– 6'4″ / 2025 / Perkiomen School / We R1 / Shooting Guard:</strong> This athletic and fast guard can score or distribute. He recently registered 19 points on the strength of 5 made threes. Marquette Head Coach Shaka Smart was a practice earlier this month to see and talk with Tanner.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='991408' first='Meleek' last='Thomas'] </strong><strong>– 6'4″ / 2025 / Lincoln Park / New Heights / Wing:</strong> Thomas is a long as well as athletic scoring wing who is widely considered one of the top two 2025 prospects in Pennsylvania. Thomas recently took a visit to Auburn. A couple of weeks ago coach Calipari from Kentucky was in to watch Thomas play.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><u>SEPA Recent Commitments</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1848625' first='Mason' last='Blazer'] </strong><strong>– 6'5” / 2024 / / Middletown / Team PA-Black / Wing: </strong>Thishybrid guard-forward can score at all three levels and just experienced a thrilling week. First, he committed to play ball next year at St. Petersburg College (JUCO). Then he went out and dropped 27 points in a win over East Pennsboro.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1187959' first='Larenzo' last='Jerkins'] – 6'5” / 2024 / Neumann-Goretti / BW Elite / Small Forward: </strong>Jerkins is having an outstanding start to his senior season -- 16 ppg.; 12 rpg.; 53% shooting from the field. He recently notched two impressive double-doubles. First it was 23 points and 15 boards vs. Lincoln. Then 23 points and 16 rebounds (5 steals too) vs. Erie Cathedral Prep. This week Jerkins announced via social media that he had committed to West Chester University (D2).</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
