Class 1A
Team | Record | Previous Ranking |
1. Evansville Christian | 11-1 | #1 |
2. Christian Academy | 12-1 | #3 |
3. Tindley | 11-3 | #5 |
4. Greenwood Christian | 9-4 | #2 |
5. Indianapolis Lutheran | 8-3 | #4 |
6. Barr-Reeve | 12-1 | #9 |
7. Morgan Township | 9-3 | #6 |
8. Orleans | 10-2 | #7 |
9. Clay City | 11-3 | #10 |
10. Loogootee | 9-5 | #8 |
The same 10 teams remain in the Top 10 but there was a decent amount of shuffling. Christian Academy knocked off Class 3A Silver Creek and jumped to #2 over Greenwood Christian who lost in the Johnson County Tournament to Whiteland. Tindley moves to #3 as well with another win. They’ve yet to lose to a Class 1A opponent this season. Barr-Reeve defeated Loogootee 43-41 in the annual Buggy Bowl and jumped up to #6 while the Lions fell two spots but remained in the Top 10 at #10.
Class 2A
Team | Record | Previous Ranking |
1. Tipton | 14-0 | #1 |
2. Brownstown Central | 12-4 | #3 |
3. Bishop Luers | 10-1 | #5 |
4. Wapahani | 12-1 | #2 |
5. Providence | 10-3 | #4 |
6. Park Tudor | 9-3 | #6 |
7. Parke Heritage | 12-3 | #8 |
8. Blackhawk Christian | 11-4 | #7 |
9. Southwestern (Hanover) | 13-2 | #9 |
10. Paoli | 10-1 | #10 |
We’ve finally had some things shake loose in Class 2A over the last couple of weeks. Both Wapahani and Providence suffered losses while Bishop Luers keeps stacking wins to move up to #3. It admittedly still feels a little wrong not having Brownstown Central at #1, but Tipton is deserving at 14-0. They are at Kokomo on Saturday for a big matchup. Park Tudor played North Central right to the final buzzer so they hung in at #6 with a strong case for potentially moving up a couple of spots as well.
Class 3A
Team | Record | Previous Ranking |
1. Brebeuf Jesuit | 7-4 | #2 |
2. Guerin Catholic | 12-4 | #5 |
3. Danville | 13-1 | #6 |
4. Heritage Hills | 13-2 | #1 |
5. Scottsburg | 11-4 | #4 |
6. Delta | 12-3 | #3 |
7. Evansville Memorial | 8-4 | #8 |
8. Hammond Noll | 9-6 | #10 |
9. NorthWood | 9-3 | NR |
10. Yorktown | 8-5 | NR |
Admittedly, I have no idea what the best way to rank Class 3A is at this point. It was hard last week, it was down right impossible this week. Has a team ever lost three straight games and moved UP to #1? I doubt it. However, that is what feels right this week. Brebeuf Jesuit has lost to three Top 20 Class 4A programs by a combined nine points in their last three games. To me, that proves their worth as the best Class 3A team. Guerin Catholic jumped a few spots with a win over previously unbeaten Cathedral, though the Irish were missing two starters in that game. Heritage Hills lost at the buzzer to Pike Central. Yorktown surprised everyone winning the Delaware County Tournament with wins over Wapahani and Delta. Should they be ahead of Delta? Maybe, the but the Eagles did win a matchup earlier in the season.
Class 4A
Team | Record | Previous Ranking |
1. Lawrence North | 14-0 | #1 |
2. Fishers | 13-0 | #2 |
3. Westfield | 10-0 | #3 |
4. Noblesville | 12-1 | #5 |
5. Crispus Attucks | 10-3 | #6 |
6. Kokomo | 12-3 | #7 |
7. Cathedral | 10-1 | #4 |
8. Richmond | 16-0 | #9 |
9. Greenfield-Central | 13-0 | #10 |
10. Lake Central | 12-0 | NR |
Lawrence North, Fishers, and Westfield all remained unbeaten, but Cathedral (with two starters out) lost to Guerin Catholic to end their perfect season. #3 Westfield will be at #4 Noblesville on Tuesday night for a really exciting matchup. Ben Davis fell to Franklin Central in the Marion County Tournament which dropped them out of the Top 10.
