Class 1A
Team | Record | Previous Ranking |
1. Evansville Christian | 10-1 | #1 |
2. Greenwood Christian | 8-3 | #2 |
3. Christian Academy | 10-1 | #3 |
4. Indianapolis Lutheran | 7-2 | #5 |
5. Tindley | 10-3 | #6 |
6. Morgan Township | 9-3 | #4 |
7. Orleans | 8-2 | #7 |
8. Loogootee | 9-4 | #8 |
9. Barr-Reeve | 10-1 | #9 |
10. Clay City | 8-3 | #10 |
No Top 10 team in Class 1A lost last week making this poll pretty simply to put out. However, not all wins are created equally. It certainly isn’t Morgan Township’s fault, but Lutheran and Tindley each had quality enough wins that they deserved to move up.
Class 2A
Team | Record | Previous Ranking |
1. Tipton | 12-0 | #2 |
2. Wapahani | 11-0 | #4 |
3. Brownstown Central | 10-4 | #1 |
4. Providence | 10-2 | #3 |
5. Bishop Luers | 9-1 | #5 |
6. Park Tudor | 8-2 | #6 |
7. Blackhawk Christian | 10-3 | #8 |
8. Parke Heritage | 10-3 | #9 |
9. Southwestern (Hanover) | 12-2 | #7 |
10. Paoli | 8-1 | #10 |
It finally happened. Brownstown lost a game with Benter in the lineup. Granted, it was his first game back, his minutes were limited, and it was against a solid 4A team in Jennings County, but these other 2A teams have been good enough they deserve to move up for now. It was VERY difficult to move the Braves off of the #1 line, especially after the defeated Jeffersonville on Saturday, but Tipton and Wapahani have earned it at least for this week.
Class 3A
Team | Record | Previous Ranking |
1. Heritage Hills | 12-1 | #4 |
2. Brebeuf Jesuit | 7-3 | #2 |
3. Delta | 10-2 | #1 |
4. Scottsburg | 10-3 | #5 |
5. Guerin Catholic | 10-4 | #6 |
6. Danville | 11-1 | #3 |
7. Indian Creek | 11-1 | #7 |
8. Evansville Memorial | 6-4 | #10 |
9. Silver Creek | 8-3 | NR |
10. Hammond Noll | 9-6 | #8 |
To be honest, ranking Class 3A is extraordinarily difficult. Brebeuf has lost two straight, but they are by a combined three points to Warren Central and Zionsville. That does more to prove their worth at the top of the class than hurt it, but they are still losses. Previously #1 Delta lost, but it was a good game against a red hot New Palestine team. Scottsburg and Guerin Catholic, the preseason top two teams, have some losses as well. So, Heritage Hills sits at the top for now. The top six teams are pretty clear in some order, but that order could be randomized, and then filling out 7-10 of worthy teams is very difficult at this point.
Class 4A
Team | Record | Previous Ranking |
1. Lawrence North | 10-0 | #1 |
2. Fishers | 12-0 | #2 |
3. Westfield | 9-0 | #3 |
4. Cathedral | 10-0 | #4 |
5. Noblesville | 10-1 | #5 |
6. Crispus Attucks | 10-3 | #6 |
7. Kokomo | 11-3 | #7 |
8. Ben Davis | 8-2 | #8 |
9. Richmond | 14-0 | #10 |
10. Greenfield-Central | 10-0 | NR |
Fort Wayne Wayne suffered a loss to Arsenal Tech which dropped them out of the Top 10 and shifted Richmond and and Greenfield-Central up a spot, but otherwise Class 4A remains unchanged.
