Lee’s Summit West vs. Liberty (January 23rd)
Two of the best teams in Kansas City. Each has double digit wins and will be contenders to win districts in Class 6. Lee’s Summit West has built their schedule to get more difficult as the season goes on and it’s paying off. Liberty is solid year in and year out and 2024 has been no different. These two programs are yearly powers who have talent and an excellent system to compliment their players.
Battle vs. Parkview (January 25th)
A game between two teams who have surprised so far this season. Each are near the top of their class and bring a tough, fast style of play to the floor. These teams have quick guards and play with pace on the offensive end. Vernell Holt is a guard who has been shining as of late for Battle. Look out for Elias Govan Elias Govan 6'6" | SF Parkview | 2025 State MO , a 6’6 forward, at Parkview to make a major impact on the game vs. 6’8 Tate McCubbin Tate McCubbin 6'7" | SF Battle | 2024 State MO .
Vianney vs. CBC (January 26th)
This MCC matchup will be held at CBC this time around. Last time it was Luke Walsh Luke Walsh 6'2" | SG Vianney | 2025 State #374 Nation MO and Terron Garrett Terron Garrett 6'5" | SG CBC | 2025 State MO who stole the show. These 2025 products were scoring at will and brought energy to a packed out crowd. Look for this one to be close as well. These two are rivals and make for an interesting game each time they play. Vianney will look to get back on track after a tough loss at De Smet last Friday.
Springfield Central vs. Webster Groves (January 27th)
This might be the game of the week. Two small, quick, and fiery teams who play with passion and intensity. They’re both looking to make a statement at Vashon on Saturday during the shootout. Iziah Purvey Iziah Purvey 6'5" | PF Webster Groves | 2024 State MO will be matched up with Bryce Walker Bryce Walker 6'6" | PF Springfield Central | 2025 State MO , a 2025 stockriser. This one is sure to have some highlights. Scottie Adkinson Scottie Adkinson 6'3" | SG Webster Groves | 2027 State MO and Tyrique Brooks Tyrique Brooks 6'3" | SG Waynesville | 2024 State MO are two players who can tear the rim down and create excitement.
Vashon vs. Cape Central (January 27th)
Two teams who play a similar style of basketball. This will be a track meet with a lot of turnovers from pressure defense. There’s going to be athletes all over the floor.
