The most productive player on the floor in the first game, Passmore has become more patient since I saw him last year. His decision making has also taken a jump, dishing out four assists to just one turnover. Efficiency was also a calling card for Passmore, going 8/10 from the floor to finish with tied for a game-high 22 points. The Kansas commit is one of the most athletic wings in the country and capable of dunking on anybody in transition, but his improvements as a decision maker and shooter intrigue me more than the player I saw at this event last year.
This game went back and forth with both teams going on big runs, and it was Milicevic in the center of both big runs that they went on. In the first quarter, Milicevic hit a couple perimeter shots and also had an early dunk. With 10 first quarter points, Milicevic was getting busy early. After falling behind in the third quarter, Milicevic caught fire on the pick and pop game and hit a handful of his five 3-pointers in that quarter.
I was really impressed with the toughness and discipline that Faith Family Academy out of Dallas Texas showed in a 20 point win over Akron STVM. Williams is a tough guard who was good in the in-between areas of the court at the mid-range being patient and toying with the defense when he was the pick and roll ball handler. Able to acrobatically finish in the half court, Williams did a nice job of avoiding shot blockers and using his body to shield himself. A capable perimeter shooter, Williams knocked down one 3-pointer and 3/4 free throws, but was looking to attack the basket first and shoot from the outside second. I really liked his defensive ability as well as the duo of Williams and Jazz Henderson Jazz Henderson 5’11” | PG Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy | 2024 State TX had five combined steals. Based on what I saw tonight, Williams could be a steal for Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
I really liked what I saw from Adkins on Friday night, doing a lot for a Sophomore at this level. Adkins played hard, running the floor and had soft hands to catch passes when he was the roll man or posting up. Athletic with a good frame, Adkins threw down a couple dunks including the highlight of the night which was a putback slam on a defenders back. Physically Adkins looks the part and his motor and production followed, showing that he’s a clear high major prospect. Currently holding three offers from Cal, TCU and South Carolina State, it won’t be long till Adkins has a bunch more to his name when colleges watch him in the spring and summer on the grassroots circuit. Very excited to see how Adkins matches up with Kent State commit DeAndre Jones tomorrow as Faith Family Academy takes on Garfield Heights in a primetime showdown.
