Also….BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE IN THE NEW YEAR!
How do you make the Hustle Team?
You have never to take a play off, give full effort, dive on the floor, board up, take charges, get stops on D, sprint, make plays in transition, do the little things, play aggressively, step up to the challenge, positively affect your team, never give up, play inspired ball, recover quickly, be resilient, stay positive, being versatile, accepting your role, being a leader, have a great work ethic, commitment to the team, play with high NRG, play relentless defense, giving 100% in practice, being mentally tough, create TO’s, get deflections, take away passing angles, by closing out hard but under control, playing physically, scarping it up, getting jump balls, holding box outs, helping the helper, and many, many others!
Dakotas All Hustle Team
Ben Erickson Ben Erickson 6'1" | CG Baltic | 2026 State SD (2026) |6’1 G| Baltic
Ben comes off the bench for the Bulldogs and provides a huge spark on both ends of the floor. Erickson is instant energy and he makes the hustle play every time there is an opportunity. He usually takes on the task of defending the other team’s best player, pushes the pace offensively, and leads Baltic in charges taken. The Bulldogs know the type of effort that they are going to get from Ben each and every time he comes into the game. Erickson is not afraid to mix it up and doesn’t lack the confidence to go down on the floor to get the extra possession for his team. Ben is scrappy and provides the team with energy.
Bennett Larson Bennett Larson 6'7" | C Stanley | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’7 C| Stanley & Jackson Hynek Jackson Hynek 6'2" | SF Stanley | 2024 State ND (2024) |6’2 SF| Stanley
The Blue Jays are 5-1 on the year and currently on a 4-game win streak. Bennett and Jack Hynek are both guys for the Blue Jays that do not take plays off. Bennett maintains maximum effort for an entire game while guarding BIGs and wings and does not sub out. Jack does the same for Stanley but is taking at least 1 CHARGE a game and is asked to guard multiple positions as well. Things are trending in the right direction for the Blue Jays.
Boden Schiller Boden Schiller 6'3" | SF Sioux Valley | 2024 SD (2024) |6’3 F| Sioux Valley
He is quick, quick, and quick! Boden will do anything to help the Cossacks effort. Schiller is always guarding the opponent’s best player and is fast to the basketball. He is no stranger to grabbing above-the-rim rebounds as well as throwing down DUNKs. Schiller is the first guy to a 50/50 ball and he brings a ton of versatility to the floor as he can play multiple positions.
James Throener (2025) |5’8 G| Sargent County
This is his first year seing consistent varsity action. James goes 100% all the time. He Dives after balls, mixes it up with big guys, doesn’t back down, and does everything that coach Weber needs. James stands only 5’8″, but he gets matched up with some of the better players that the Bulldogs see. He is the one that takes over for Nick Hansen Nick Hansen 5'11" | CG Sargent County | 2024 ND when SC needs to take Nick off the main threat. He is quick as anybody out there on the court and has really grown as a basketball player from last year to this year. Look for Throener’s minutes to continue to increase as the year moves along.
Josh Barjolo Josh Barjolo 6'0" | CG Fargo South | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’0 G| Fargo South
He is always playing hard on both ends of the floor! Josh is leading the Bruins in steals and deflections. As of now, Barjolo has started 3 games and in all other games has been our 1 guy off the bench. The coaching staff must like this youngster! Josh attacks the hoop with the idea of getting others the ball but he also can finish at the rim. He defends the ball the entire length of the court and Barjolo never thinks he is going to get beat while on defense. Good things happen when Josh is on the floor.
Karson Gruba Karson Gruba 6'0" | CG Enderlin | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’0 G| Enderlin
This Eagle loves to play fast and he excels at it. He can fly up the court and he finishes with versatility. Gruba can get up and block a dunk impressively for a 6’0″ soph. Karson chases down everything and he uses his athleticism to make people earn it. He is a very good defender with a great motor. Gruba is a game-changer with his speed on the basketball court.
Kolton Kadoun (2024) |6’4 G| Sargent County
Kolten comes off the bench for the highly ranked Bulldogs and he provides a ton of energy. He does all the things that coach Weber needs. He gets rebounds, dives after loose balls, is physical on defense, and takes care of the ball. As the 6th man, that is everything the team needs from him. If the Bulldogs start to relax, Kolten gets on the court and brings the energy and it is infectious! Coach Weber trusts him to take care of the ball and play solid defense.
Myles Schneider Myles Schneider 6'2" | SF Madison | 2026 State SD (2026) |6’3 SF| Madison
Myles is one of the hardest workers that coach Larsen has ever coached. He is constantly pushing himself to be a better player and he does the little things to help the team be successful. The talented Mr. Schneider is averaging over 9 points and 4 rebounds per game as a sophomore playing varsity in Class A. He never takes a play off, you can always count on him to play hard, and to do what is best for the team. Myles has excelled in his role thus far this season and that is due to the time he puts in during the offseason and in-season. Keep track of this young Bulldog.
Sutton Thompson Sutton Thompson 6'0" | SG Mitchell | 2025 State SD (2025) |6’0 G| Mitchell
The Kernels are hot at 6-0 and Thompson is having a positive impact. Sutton is a team-first guy who is willing to do whatever it takes to win. He has been very steady for the Kernels this year on the defensive end and has been making shots on the offensive end. Every great team needs a baller like Mr. Thompson.
Teegan Musser Teegan Musser 6'4" | SF Lennox | 2026 State SD (2026) |6’4 SF| Lennox
This young Oriole is all over the floor on the defensive end. Musser blocks shots at the rim and has played elite defense on some of the best players that Lennox has faced. Teegan is always making hustle plays, it must be tough to take this kid out of the game!
Treyton Mauch Treyton Mauch 5'11" | SG Wahpeton | 2025 State ND (2025) |5’11 G| Wahpeton
He is 100% full speed all the time. Mauch has great quickness and is an excellent rebounder for a 5’11” guy. Treyton guards the other team’s best perimeter player and makes good things happen on both ends. Mauch does not let a bad play affect his next play. For example, on Saturday vs. Shanley in the 3rd overtime, he missed a transition layup that was contested, he hustled back, picked off a pass, and kicked it ahead for a score which (kind of) sealed the Huskie win.
