Chamiande took charge late in the 4th quarter before a big Vianney three and FTs to close. Vianney won 66-63 in a thriller. The following are 3 takeaways from the game.
Eddie Smajic Eddie Smajic 6'5" | SF Vianney | 2026 State MO and Colin Keller Colin Keller 6'2" | SG Chaminade | 2025 State MO put on an elite shooting display.
Smajic was the leading scorer in the game. The 6’6 sophomore had it going from three, on cuts, and in transition. He found ways to get open from three and let it fly with a ton of confidence. His over 25+ point scoring display was impressive and he let the crowd hear about it. Smajic heard the noise and answered the call. On the other end, Colin Keller Colin Keller 6'2" | SG Chaminade | 2025 State MO was outstanding for Chaminade. His 20 points were all needed and equally important. His shot making from mid-range and three was constant. Anything catch and shoot was automatic. Keller a 2025 and Smajic a 2026 are headed in the right direction in their respective classes.
Vianney’s continuity and pace.
Bottom line, this was a massive win for Vianney. They’re a team that has a high ceiling but finished Coaches vs. Cancer on a bad note. Tonight was a huge game for them to get back on track. Their chemistry is something that’s easy to notice. Passing, shooting, and playing with speed are all things they do very well. Luke Walsh Luke Walsh 6'2" | SG Vianney | 2025 State #374 Nation MO and Eddie Smajic Eddie Smajic 6'5" | SF Vianney | 2026 State MO have perfected the two-man game and play off each other well especially in screening actions. Their conditioning as a team is not to be ignored. Vianney runs the floor hard and has shooters ready in transition. The continuity they showed was very impressive.
Chaminade 2026 shows flashes of brilliance.
Jamison White Jamison White 6'7" | SF Chaminade | 2026 State MO is a sophomore wing that does so many things for Chaminade. At 6’7 he’s a big and athletic prospect who makes shots from all levels. Tonight his defense was stifling early on and helped Chaminade get back in the contest. As he continues to mature and develop his overall offensive approach, the sky’s the limit for White. He’s already a strong rebounder who blocks shots and can guard 1-5. One of the most fun prospects to track in the state.
