Each are teams that figure to be making deep runs in the playoffs in their respective state. Here are the top takeaways from the game!
Bradley Longcor and Keshaun Thomas are a dynamic duo.
These two 2025s have a ton of chemistry and it showed as they went for over 30 combined points in a convincing victory. Longcor had 8 assists and many of them were on drives + post entries to Thomas. Longcor is hard to speed up as he sees the entire floor at all times. A gifted passer. He added multiple threes and guarded a Division 1 bound PG for the opposing team. On the other hand, Thomas commanded the block and showed soft touch over his left shoulder. He uses his size and strength to take defenders out of the play and works hard for inside position. A prospect who has worked hard to become more fluid as an athlete and is reaping the benefits. Longcor and Thomas can lead Quincy to a deep run this postseason.
Cardinal Ritter has played a tough schedule and will be battle tested.
In a surprise to some, Cardinal Ritter moved up to Class 6 this season. Games like this are a learning experience for a team that nobody will want to see when it matters most. They’ve been playing a national schedule and gaining exposure in multiple regions across the country. A team with college prospects and athletes at all levels. Ryan Johnson is a proven winner and will be sure to have this team clicking on all cylinders late in the season. Early season losses are not ideal but few teams have played a difficult schedule like the Ritter. Some standouts for them were Clayton Jackson Clayton Jackson 6'2" | PG Cardinal Ritter | 2024 State MO , Derrick Rivers Derrick Rivers 6'0" | SG Cardinal Ritter | 2024 State MO , and Quenton Parker Quenton Parker 6'5" | SG STEAM Academy | 2024 State MO . All will play basketball at the next level.
Quincy has key role players that provide intrigue for the next level.
The role players on Quincy play a vital role. Camden Brown, Dom Clay, and Ralph Wires combined for 19 points and all bring something of value to the table. Brown is a college prospect because of his size at 6’5, bounce, and shooting from three. His motor runs high and he’s playing his role well. Clay has a high upside on the wing. His bounce and ability to make plays off schedule can’t be replicated by others on this team. For this reason alone his value is obvious. Wires is a lefty guard who handles the ball at times and has a pure jump shot. He’s another player who has chemistry with those around him and plays with a level of toughness. The prospects at Quincy go beyond just Longcor and Thomas. A deep roster.
