Here are five players from the 5A classification that worked their way into the first update to the 2026 Rankings:

#16 - [player_tooltip player_id='2327569' first='Jamari' last='Williams'], 6-foot-3 guard, 2026, KC-Washington:

Searching for adjectives to describe Williams, the word “electric” comes to mind. He's a dynamic playmaker who has supreme confidence with the ball in his hands. He pushes it at a high tempo, bent on getting into the paint to create opportunities at the rim or to kick the ball to shooters. The lefty is dangerous from deep, but he's also dangerous above the rim, making some impressive dunks. He creates havoc on defense too, with long reach, great hands and basketball instincts.

#28 - [player_tooltip player_id='2327571' first='Jason' last='Jones'], 6-foot-2, forward, 2026, Bonner Springs:

Bonner Springs has had an up-and-down season thus far, but it's developing some nice young talent, headed by the lanky guard/forward Jones. He can really run and leap, making him very dangerous on the break. He rebounds and turns the ball up court quickly, and passes aggressively to teammates who might find an open shot. Jones' 10 points and 6 rebounds is an impressive stat line.

#36 - [player_tooltip player_id='2327580' first='Eli' last='Mick'], 5-foot-10 guard, 2026, Blue Valley Southwest:

Mick is getting a lot of time for a very good 5A team. He is a heady guard who can play point or off the ball. A smooth, slender competitor, he isn't afraid to slash into traffic to make plays. He can hit from the midrange as well as from deep.

#37 - [player_tooltip player_id='2328072' first='Corey' last='Rolfe'], 6-foot-2 forward, 2026, Bonner Springs:

Bonner Springs is running with several sophomores to make up for some graduation losses. Rolfe is a similar player to Jones – a big guard/small forward who is athletic and versatile. He' been a little bit inconsistent in his point production, but he rebounds, defends and is a dynamic athlete for opponents to contend with.

#45 - [player_tooltip player_id='2328082' first='Emmitt' last='Peters'], 6-foot-3 forward, 2026, St. James Academy:

It's a rebuilding season for the proud St. James Thunder, a team that knows how to win and how to develop talent. Peters is leading the team in scoring as a sophomore with 12 points per game. He's battling in every area and trying to learn on the job. His highlight of the season was getting 18 points in a win over Washburn Rural.
