That has allowed me, for a few years now to be aware of the name Kingziger. But when I really started to focus in on Zach Kinziger Zach Kinziger 6'3" | SG De Pere | 2025 State #127 Nation WI was his freshman year. It was during a visiting game against the powerhouse Pewaukee. Where during the closely contested game and one that DePere mostly trailed in, it was this young player that made an easy impression on me in the second half. He did so by showing no fear and hitting multiple threes against the defending state division two champs. I love a player with moxy, which was abundant that game. Since then, I have enjoyed keeping track of this player. It is especially interesting in how a player starts and then following the progression throughout the high school career. I must have like Zach I have included him on my annual favorite player list a couple of times now . Most likely it will happen again, as he progresses through his junior and senior seasons.

Scout’s Take: This is a very solid high IQ player that is just touching some of his potential. Usually, very composed player who will make the heady and hustle plays. A player that often displays a sense of moxy and/or confidence. Particularly known for his shooting. Has improved his quickness to the hoop, where he has a variety of finishes. Needs: This past summer while waiting for the offer to come in from Wisconsin he seemed to be pressing; out of place on the floor and taking some wrong shots. As one D1 coach explained- During the Nike EYBL he was a 75/25 ball player. Meaning doing the right things and taking the right shots. During the high school team ball period the same D1 coach described him as 25/75. It was obvious that ZK was pressing. My advice, always stay within yourself and concentrate on the court to what you can control. Since he has assumed a leadership role on his teams and the college decision is behind him, he has improved again. One other area of concertation would be to work the weights towards solid goals of good basketball weight and strength. Guessing that over the next 2 high school seasons he will need to add about 15lbs of muscle, in an effort to be prepared for a Big Ten schedule. Don’t take any of that as a negative, this prospect will hurt you in many different fashions and then also make sure his teammates are set up for success.
