Closing Minutes
Christman was steady and poised through the entire game. He is impressive the way that he can pace himself and keep angles that allow him to see cutters and what the defense is doing. He hit a clutch three-pointer in the right corner off of a step-back. This kid is nails and is a very under the radar prospect.
This is where Layton benefits from the rotation that they have. Romer was solid the entire game but had a big bucket where he showed patience with 2 seconds left and he got his defender in the air and was able to get it up and in for the win. Romer had himself a game and you can see a lot fo growth in his game from last season.
Highlights
Big Time Shot Makers
Right off the bat KJ was ready to roll as he hit the first few buckets and he was shooting it well from deep. Kj was making them on the move, off the bounce and in rhythm catch and shoot. San Marcos got a steal with him.
Poole was making some big shots and he was the player that was keeping Murray close and he was ready to shoot at all times. Impressive off of some set pieces but also in scrambles. Underrated talent for sure.
Highlights
Underrated on the Floor
In a perfect world you want to see a kid like him get more touches. he was the biggest kid on the floor big a stretch and he got minimal touches, but it does not take away from the fact that he has exceptional touch around the rim and he cleans things up after misses. When he watches film and sees openings when shots go up and he is more active moving to get rebounds his put back production will go up.
Undersized but he plays his position well. He does a great job of adjusting and reading the defense. He was active on the glass and if he did not get a board he got his hands on a lot of those rebounds. He is going to have to continue to do his thing as the season progresses because they will be undersized almost every game.
Solid Play
When Martin gets downhill and in the lane it is crazy how he can just bully his way to easy shot making opportunities. He showed that strength of his game through different looks. Solid handle and shiftiness.
Beh looked good as a do it all bigger guard. He is looking stronger and he is quick. He is solid with his back to the basket and if he can get more touches in the mid-post he is really going to do work.
