The young man came out on a mission infecting his presence all over the court. Played relentless on both ends of the ball forcing turnovers on ball handlers. Strong quick player that is light on his feet. Displayed many positives in front of Blinn coaching staff. I saw him in the opening match up against Cy-Ridge, and he turned it up a notch second half. The lions lead grew to 20 thanks to Archie aggressive defense picking ball handlers and annticapting passes in the passing lane
Jackson displayed primetime action when his impeccable timing on blocking shots. Made his presence known defensively around the rim. Big body that is light on his feet leading him to eight blocks against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial. Natural feel downlow around the rim being patience and converting and-one opportunities.
Sean Mondragon
Sean Mondragon
Mondragon made spectators raise their eyebrows with his style of play. Knocked down shots from the perimeter consistently throughout the tournament. Keep defenders off-balance with his change of pace and direction. Doesn’t allow defenders to speed him up or slow him down. Almost posted a triple-double against cy-ridge two rebounds shy of the achievement.
Mighty Mike was on full display earning tournament MVP helping lead Shadow Creek to their first ever Methodist Hospital Cy-Hoops invitational champions. Plays with relentless pursuit until the final buzzer sounds. Over the year he’s learn how be even-kneel with the passion and energy he brings to the floor. Plays strong in all areas of the game, and is shifty with a quick first-step. Collins is coming into his own, and starting to take another leap
The Loyola University-Chicago commit defended the tradition of great CFISD players earning Most Outstanding Player award with Cy-Falls coming up short in the championship. Young is an interior force on both ends. Make opponents re-think taking shots near the rim. Comes flying out of nowhere for offensive boards. Improved footwork on the block, and added some moves to his post-up game. Baby hooks over both shoulders.
Kaden Tate
Kaden Tate
Tate was doing Tate things. Running the floor in the transition leading to cutbacks off missed layups or resulting in easy points for himself. Involves himself heavy on the boards making it difficult for defenders to box him out. His motor doesn’t stop diving for loose balls, taking charges, hustling back on defense. Plays strong through contact. Have nice size hands that gives him good grip on the ball.
King was giving out amazing grace all tournament. Excellent at lowering his shoulder to turn the corner. Team player that takes what the defense gives him. Muscular built to his body. Good decision maker on shot selections. Downhill playmaker with good spacing in transition.
Highlights
My first time seeing Parker Jefferson Parker Jefferson 6’10” | C Waxahachie | 2025 State #46 Nation TX , and my first thought is I need his meal plan….. Such a long big body that just moves people out. Stretch out defense with his shot-making ability off the catch. Can heat up quick from the perimeter. Effective for pick-n-roll situations, but useful when fading as well. Makes it hard for defense because of different options he provide on offense in that scenario. Understand how to use his length to get by his defender with one step.
