Let’s dive on in and take a look at 10 of the names you’ll need to know during this great tournament.
If you are reading this or attending the Bobcat of Daviess County Classic you certainly would know about Jack Benter Jack Benter 6’4″ | SG Brownstown Central | 2024 State #121 Nation IN . He recently went over 2,000 career points in a win over Mitchell. The Purdue signee is obviously an elite scorer and has led Brownstown Central to a #1 ranking in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 2A Rankings. This tournament is set up to potentially get a rematch between the Braves and the Scottsburg Warriors in the final.
Highlights
Scottsburg is ranked #2 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 3A poll with a 6-2 overall record. Clancy, a 6’3″ unsigned senior guard, is a big part of their success. The veteran ball handler can initiate offense for the Warriors, score it from all three levels on the floor, and provide solid on-ball defense. Clancy’s offensive talent has been a staple of Scottsburg’s success for several years now.
Highlights
One of the top scoring guards in southern Indiana, this Paoli High School product has the Rams off to a perfect 4-0 start and a #10 ranking in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 2A poll. Cole can fill it up from anywhere on the floor. He is averaging 23.5 points per game and coming off of putting up 30 in their last game against Austin. The backcourt battle between Cole and Josiah Dunham Josiah Dunham 6’0″ | PG Evansville Christian | 2024 State IN on Thursday afternoon will be a great way to begin the Bobcat of Daviess County Classic.
One of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the Class of 2024, Dunham has opportunities at the low-major Division I, Division II, and NAIA levels. He once again has the Evansville Christian Eagles as a primary contender in Class 1A with a 6-1 record and #1 ranking in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 1A poll. The Indiana All-Star candidate is averaging 17.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 2.7 steals per game for the Eagles.
A stock-rising Class of 2024 guard, Miller currently holds Division II offers from Illinois-Springfield and Ohio Dominican. The 6’5″ athlete has continued to physically develop packing on some serious strength to a long and athletic frame. His physical tools match his overall skill level as Miller can finish above the rim at the end of his drives, creates for himself in the mid-range, and shoots at a high percentage from beyond the arc.
A really intriguing long-term prospect, Singleton is 6’7″ and very athletic. The South Knox High School junior forward has had a strong junior year, but the Spartans are just 3-4 on the season. It’ll be fun to watch him go against a talented Brownstown Central team of Jack Benter Jack Benter 6’4″ | SG Brownstown Central | 2024 State #121 Nation IN , Colby Hall Colby Hall 6’6″ | PF Brownstown Central | 2025 State IN , Chace Coomer Chace Coomer 6’5″ | SG Brownstown Central | 2025 State IN , and Parker Hehman Parker Hehman 6’0″ | PG Brownstown Central | 2024 IN .
Rounding out Scottsburg’s super talented senior trio is their 6’9″ interior presence. Zellers is an excellent shot blocker on the defensive end of the floor, but does his best work offensively away from the basket. He is a true pick-and-pop forward that with a smooth left-handed stroke from beyond the arc. His ability to shoot the basketball at his size has made him a highly sought after Division and NAIA prospect.
