A bouncy athlete who can defend quite a few positions, Jallow brings a moldable skillset that can fit into a variety of lineups. Capable on or off the ball, the wing has continued to improve his shotmaking along the perimeter, off the bounce in particular. There is little opponents can do to contest such shot attempts, especially given his ability to explode downhill if they jump on the closeout. A powerful vertical athlete, the forward has produced quite a few jaw dropping finishes and blocks around the rim. Jallow will be on full display yet again at Bear Creek, spearheading their effort with a new look roster.
One of the more potent three level scoring guards in the class, Kennison continues to open eyes through his scoring off the bounce. Excellent getting to pull-up jumpers in the mid-range and out beyond the arc, there are few guards who heat up like him. Given his supreme handle and complete gravity, Kennison can leverage nearby defenders for drives and finishes around the rim. Defensively, he is sturdy versus both backcourt positions, maintaining his positioning versus contact.
The Adams State commit is a gritty two-way guard who can rise up for jumpers from all over the floor. Effective staying physical on drives, King has balance under a variety of chaotic situations, effectively rising up for and-1 finishes at the basket. His defensive abilities at the point of attack cannot be overlooked either, very quick and assertive against opposing lead guards.
Among the best shooters in the state, Riehl remains within the top 10, bringing pedigree from an undefeated season with 5A Mesa Ridge. Effective rising up from shots well beyond the three point line, there are few guards as efficient from such deep range. He did an excellent job leveraging his perimeter gravity to attack the lane, active finding baseline slashers or perimeter shooters on kickouts. Mesa Ridge remains atop preseason polls, retaining their core perimeter scorers, although it will be no easy feat.
Highlights
Notably skilled down low, Barker shows value through a consistent hook shot and neverending motor on the glass. The 6’10 big man possesses soft touch out of the post, complemented by consistent footwork to leverage his strength. Given the gravity he possesses down low, Barker has continued to progress as a passer from down low, hitting kickouts to Resurrection’s array of shotmakers. One area that is a necessity with any post threat is their motor on the glass, where Barker is no different. Effective and active at crashing the glass, they do a great job of instigating opponents and causing chaos down low. Helping lead the 4A Resurrection Christian program to the finals last year, this group looks to bring it back yet again with the majority of their core pieces.
