Heading into their sophomore year, this list is still new and while we did our best we know things will change a lot as players continue to grow and develop moving forward.
Here’s a look at part one of the shooting guards and small forwards in the rankings.
17) Nikcolaos Karageorgos | 6’1” SG | McLean (#61 Overall)
Karageorgos is an impressive young two guard in the NOVA area who had a big summer with NOVA Cavs and should have a breakout season at McLean as a sophomore. He’s a high IQ wing who works hard off the ball to get open and is great at cutting to get layups, he can drill it from deep consistently and he can work on the ball to get to spots and score it from multiple levels.
16) Faron Friend Faron Friend 6'2" | SG Glen Allen | 2026 State VA | 6’4” SF | Glen Allen (#55 Overall)
Friend is one that we forgot about when updating these rankings because he should be much higher in retrospect, and after an impressive freshman season he’s shown this fall that he’s going to be one of the best sophomores in the Richmond area. The 6’4” wing has great size and is a natural athlete who plays well in transition, he uses his size to make tough shots in the midrange off the bounce and he’s a very good rebounder for his position too.
15) Deuce Trotter Deuce Trotter 6'3" | SG South County | 2026 State VA | 6’3” SG | South County (#53 Overall)
Trotter is part of a young South County core that will be really good in a few years if they all stay together, and he’s a natural athlete who thrives on the football field and the basketball court. He thrives in transition with his ability to get up and down and finish at and above the rim, he’s an excellent defender with good instincts who moves his feet well and he can make open shots consistently.
14) Ryan Corallo Ryan Corallo 6'1" | SG WT Woodson | 2026 State VA | 6’1” SG | WT Woodson (#50 Overall)
Corallo makes the jump to varsity after averaging over 20 points per game on JV as a freshman, and he could be an x-factor for this Woodson team that will be a tough out in the loaded Patriot District this year. He’s a naturally talented scorer who can drill it from deep off the catch, he can put it on the deck and is a good finisher around the rim and he brings a tough mindset and a lot of hustle to his team too.
13) Alex Blanchard Alex Blanchard 6'0" | SG Douglas Freeman | 2026 State VA | 6’3” SG | Douglas Freeman (#48 Overall)
Blanchard was one of the top freshman in the Richmond area last year for Freeman, and he had a big summer with RockIt showcasing his all-around skillset on both ends of the floor. He’s a crafty two guard who can play on or off the ball, he knocks down shots consistently and works well off the ball to get open and he has great instincts on both ends of the floor.
12) Mike Robinson Mike Robinson 6'4" | SF South County | 2026 State VA | 6’4” SF | South County (#41 Overall)
The son of South County head coach and former All American of the same name, Robinson is set to have a breakout season at South County as part of a talented young team at South County. He has prototypical size and athleticism for the position, he uses his length to get deflections and challenge shots, he’s a good finisher and makes open shots and he’s still got plenty of room to improve.
