The South Garner Titans entered the game with a focus on stifling defense and getting their guards involved in the game and it showed as they jumped out to an early 11-2 lead. 2025 Kai Muschette Kai Muschette 6'1" | CG South Garner | 2025 NC put an early stamp on the game with his prowess shooting the ball on the perimeter and attacking the basket. He finished with 13 points in the opening quarter as the Titans jumped out to a 27-14 lead after one quarter and never looked back.
Middle Creek would try to attack the basket but Najai Hines Najai Hines 6'9" | C South Garner | 2025 State NC and his rim-protection was on full display as he finished with upwards of 8+ blocks. His size was on full display as he showed he could be more than a scorer in the painted area. By halftime, South Garner led 43-22 while holding the Mustangs to just eight points in the second quarter.
The third quarter was more of the same as the bench got things going behind the exploits of Braylen McRae Braylen McRae 5'8" | CG South Garner | 2026 State NC and Samein Jones Samein Jones 5'11" | CG South Garner | 2025 NC . The Titans were able to show their depth as their younger players got some varsity experience given the lead. The scoring cooled though for both sides as the deficit remained at 21 points for Middle Creek. After 3, they trailed South Garner, 54-32.
2025 wing Yasir Hall Yasir Hall 6'4" | CG Middle Creek | 2025 State NC would get things going for the Middle Creek offense by the end of things, finishing with 22 points but the deficit remained the same. In the end, South Garner would cruise to a 69-50 victory.
Muschette set quite the tone on offense for his teammates to follow behind as he scored a quick 13 points in the first quarter to pace his squad. He knocked down three 3-pointers and opened the game with an And-1 opportunity to set quite the tone. He’s an aggressive junior guard to keep an eye on.
Hines was impressive on both ends in the painted area. He showed off his ability to own the glass, alter shots in the paint with ease and even had a few tough finishes around the rim. He’s got a bright future as a defensive anchor for this group.
Highlights
Leach was impressive in running the show at the point guard spot. He showed he could get his teammates in prime scoring position as he got Muschette and others going in the offense. He’s averaging 6.5 apg this season and it’s easy to see why given his unselfish play.
Hall got things going eventually in leading the Middle Creek offense. He showed he could operate inside and out with his length and athleticism at 6-foot-4. He’ll be a solid piece alongside Brandon Ihle Brandon Ihle 6’3″ | SF Middle Creek | 2024 State NC when he returns from injury.
Highlights
Littles showed off his ability to operate without the ball and make things happen on the perimeter. He finished with eight points along with two made 3-pointers to show off his ability to make an impact. He’s a sizeable shooting option at 6-foot-3 to keep eyes on with this group.
McRae stepped up in a big way off the bench and paced the second unit with his shooting stroke. He knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points off the bench to show his growth as a creator in space. He’s an aggressive change of pace at the backup point guard spot for the Titans.
