Munoz had an incredible start to the season, catapulted by a wide array of drives to the rim, the tall guard asserted himself inside the arc. Starting off strong with a 28 point performance, Munoz was particularly active attacking the rim, scoring through contact and contests. There is no doubt the guard can stretch the floor if necessary, although what was particularly impressive was his impact without contributing many threes in this past effort. Given his 42% mark last year, Munoz will undoubtedly rise back up, as it has only been one game. His final statline was 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Highlights
The guard is a guard worth following over the next few seasons, a dynamic playmaker with above average vision on both ends of the floor. Certainly a step ahead of most opponents with his processing speed, the guard did well setting up teammates for success numerous times in his matchup against Laguna Acoma, posting 7 assists and 4 steals. His perimeter defense will be a bankable skill throughout his sophomore season, already capable of guarding older opponents.

McKinley was instrumental in setting up teammates for success, grabbing 11 assists throughout the contest. Either from out of bounds passes or the extra pass along the perimeter, McKinley kept the ball moving at all times.
Fernie Corona
Fernie Corona
Corona will be a 2026 guard worth watching, possessing excellent vision on defense to grab steals and deflect passes. The guard is not afraid to get out early to deflect a pass, proving effective at reading the opponents to get into position early. Grabbing 5 steals and numerous extra opportunities for scorers, Corona was highly impactful.
Munson will be a freshman worth following with Gateway Christian, grabbing 9 steals in a tight loss versus Tatum. Certainly a pesky defender, the guard does not take any possessions off, competing for every possible opportunity. Generating plenty of fast breaks, Munson is proactive within transition situations.
Coyle brought so much energy in this recent performance, grabbing multiple blocks and a double double. An incredibly well rounded performance of 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 blocks, the 6’4 forward seeks contact and is not afraid to dish out his physicality. Active from help side rotations, Coyle was constantly sprinting into position to stunt driving lanes. Also actively grabbing rebounds, the forward was all over the glass in Mayfield’s first victory of the season.
Jonathan Frias
Jonathan Frias
Frias was prevalent getting into passing lanes to intercept passing lanes, creating a wide variety of fast break opportunities. His quick decisions created plenty of additional possessions for Del Norte against Laguna Acoma.
Justin Rubio
Justin Rubio
Rubio put up a well rounded game in his start to the season versus Escalante, posting 26 points and 10 rebounds. Utilizing his raw strength to get downhill and attack the lane, regardless of the incoming contest. A dual sport athlete, Rubio’s production was on full display off the bat for Estancia.
