Glenbrook South Clicking Early in Win vs Stevenson
Thought this game was going to be much more competitive, but the inside play, shot making, and defense of Glenbrook South were too much for Stevenson as they rolled 59-41. Glenbrook South power forward Nick Taylor Nick Taylor 6'6" | PF Glenbrook South | 2024 State IL was a monster on the glass all game long. The tough and rugged post is quick to the glass and snatches them in traffic. Has mobility on the offensive end as he slipped to the hoop, converted an and-1 in the pick/roll, and got on the offensive glass for several put backs. Also threw down a pair of nasty dunks early in the fourth quarter one where he got a bogus technical foul for hanging on the rim and the second a one handed lob slam. Finished with 18 points and easily double digit boards. Recently landed several D2 offers and would be really good at that level or even potentially a low-major in the right fit. Surrounding Taylor GBS has a ton of quality small college guards. Anestis Hadjstamoulou brings toughness and scoring on straight line takes for 8 points. JP Hubbard JP Hubbard 6'1" | SG Glenbrook South | 2024 State IL banged in a pair of threes en route to 7 points. Nate Kasher Nate Kasher 6'0" | PG Glenbrook South | 2024 State IL was good as a passer and showed he can knock down a shot scoring 5 points. New name jumped on our radar was Hudson Fuller Hudson Fuller 6'1" Glenbrook South | 2025 IL . The 6’4” utility wing did a little bit of everything scoring from all three levels for 10 points.
Stevenson got a really good outing from their sophomore point guard Rocco Pagliocca Rocco Pagliocca 6'1" | PG Stevenson | 2026 State IL . Slick ball handler who plays with a lot of creativity. Hit three from distance with a clean shooting stroke. Can get in the lane off the bounce on shot fakes and hesitation for scoop shots or floaters. Like his feel for the game and passing instincts. Went for 15 points. Aidan Bardic Aidan Bardic 6'3" | PG Stevenson | 2025 State IL is a 6’3” left handed junior point guard that is crafty with the rock scoring on nifty layups and spin moves in the paint.
York Balance and Defense Prevails over Palatine
Next up was York vs host school Palatine. York jumped out early and was never in any real danger as they won 52-40. Recent Penn commit AJ Levine AJ Levine 6'0" | PG York | 2024 State IL ran the show. Crisp passer that makes those around him better. Pushed in the open floor and got others involved. Solid shooter hitting a pair of threes and was scrappy on the defensive end recording multiple steals while scoring 8 points. York 6’6” small forward Kyle Waltz Kyle Waltz 6'7" | SG York | 2024 State IL is going to be a nice addition at the small college level as a sleeper. Good size, can really deck it especially on the baseline, rebounds well, can hit a spot up three, and is a versatile defender. Went for 13 points. Brendan Molis Brendan Molis 6'3" | PG York | 2024 IL is another small college gem that brings some length and athleticism in the backcourt to go along with shot making recording 10 points. Braden Richardson Braden Richardson 6'4" | PF York | 2024 State IL is the junk yard dog post for this squad that finishes dump offs and boards. Went for 8 points.
Palatine was led by one of the better uncommitted seniors in the state Connor May Connor May 6'5" | SF Palatine | 2024 State IL . The 6’6” small forward started off slow, but got it going in the second half finishing with 16 points. Strong bodied three man that can shoot it from distance hitting four of them. Seems to have added some strength since we saw him over the summer and competed defensively recording a couple steals and blocks. Low-majors in need of a shooting specialist this would be a great fit!
