Probably the most senior-dominated class last year was 3A. Unlike in the bigger classes, very few of the teams at the 3A tournament return a significant amount of talent. They will be looking to rebuild around a key returner or two.

Here are the two 3A state teams that return a significant portion of last year:

Wichita Collegiate – lost in first round to Marysville:

One of the state's most intriguing teams as we head into the season is Collegiate. They reached the state tournament a year ago relying heavily upon freshmen. This will be an exciting group to follow. They have a super-athletic big man in [player_tooltip player_id='2209780' first='Sebastian' last='Hines-Turner'] and an impressive point guard in [player_tooltip player_id='1541007' first='Amare' last='(AJ) Batiste']. They also have a physical, slashing guard/forward in [player_tooltip player_id='2211301' first='Jaden' last='Parker']. Senior James Shackleford will provide experience and versatility.

Wellsville – lost in first round to Galena:

Wellsville returns its two best players in [player_tooltip player_id='1461344' first='Willie' last='Dorsey'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1580564' first='Dezmond' last='Winton']. That will provide an offensive punch to build around. Both can create their own shots or facilitate opportunities for others. Look for [player_tooltip player_id='2387774' first='Calvin' last='Dwyer'] and Brody Lee to grow their guard roles, as well as forward Jake Taylor and big man Chase Douglas.

The other six teams at 3A state will be looking to the following returns to lead rebuilds this year:

[player_tooltip player_id='1772980' first='Jack' last='Perry'], Galena

[player_tooltip player_id='1588404' first='Will' last='Otott'], Marysville

[player_tooltip player_id='2169817' first='Guy' last='Tubbs'], Colby

[player_tooltip player_id='2321590' first='Reed' last='Friesen'], Hesston

[player_tooltip player_id='1673661' first='Eli' last='Dean'], Perry-Lecompton

Daniel Kejr, Southeast of Saline
