With this being their second season of high school basketball these prospects will be starters, or key contributors off the bench for Varsity.
Rucker plays for the small school in the City (San Francisco). We saw him with his club team at the 15U, 16U level where at 6’4 he was hard to guard in and around the paint area. He was a strong rebounder, and scorer inside. He has a mid-range jump shot, he can work from the low, mid, and high post. He can pass and work on the perimeter. He has the strength, and movement to defend perimeter to post.
Landers had a productive spring and summer. At 6’8 he’ll be a key piece in the paint on one of NorCal’s top teams. He can be a target in the post. He’s improved his post skill-set. He’s a good passer from the low block, he sets solid screens, he’ll roll to the basket. He’ll work for rebounds and put backs points. He’ll get more minutes on the court if he can defend the other teams post players.
Highlights
He’s a solid body shooting guard with good ball handling, and passing. He knows how to use his body on the drive into the paint taking it right at bigs, or pulling up for paint jumpers. He’s good in transition finishing with strong layups, and coming down looking to drop a 3ptr in transition. He’s a good perimeter shooter, with a good stroke from 3.
He was a key player on a team that made a deep playoff run last season. He played well at the Pro-West Camp this summer. He’s an active guard that will have impact on both ends of the court. He has speed, quickness, and a willingness to defend. He’s a quality ball handler, a willing passer, he runs, and finishes in transition. He takes it strong to the basket from different areas along the perimeter.
