Continue ReadingThe upcoming Garden State basketball season is around the corner as opening night is a little over two weeks away. Non-Public A is one of the deepest groups in the Garden State and will be one to watch throughout the season. The group is full of talent, especially in the 2025 class. Here are the 2025 under the radar prospects to watch in Non-Public A.
Luke Schorr Luke Schorr 6'3" | SG Union Catholic | 2025 State NJ , 6’3 SG Union Catholic
Schorr joins a talented Vikings’ squad that is looking to repeat as Non-Public A champions. The Rumson Fair-Haven transfer has a smooth shooting stroke and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Schorr moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He slides his feet on defense and is an underrated passer. Schorr is a sharpshooting guard prospect who will be looking to torch the nets this season for Union Catholic.
Kevin Pikiell Kevin Pikiell 6'3" | SG CBA | 2025 State NJ , 6’3 SG CBA
Pikiell has the potential to breakout this season as he should get more touches on the offensive end. The Gill St. Bernard’s transfer attacks the basket strong as he finishes well around the basket and is able to draw contact down low. Pikiell is more than just a slasher as he wastes little motion in his jumper and can make opponents pay for giving him space on the perimeter. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and can get deflections on defense. Pikiell’s ability to score inside and out is something that will help his stock in a big way this season.
Anthony Pacciarelli Anthony Pacciarelli 6'3" | SG St. Joseph (Mont.) | 2025 State NJ , 6’3 SG St. Joseph (Mont.)
Pacciarelli had a strong sophomore season and should have an even bigger junior campaign. The 6’3 guard has a nice release on his jumper and shoots the ball with confidence from distance. Pacciarelli can also score in the mid-range and is able to draw contact in the paint. He moves well without the ball in his hands and is an underrated defender. Pacciarelli poured in a career-high 23 points against Hackensack last season and should have more games like that in 2023-24.
Tyler McQuaid Tyler McQuaid 6'0" | PG Bergen Catholic | 2025 State NJ , 6’0 PG Bergen Catholic
McQuaid will get more touches on offense as the Crusaders look to return to the sectional title game. The 6’0 guard has a good handle, which he uses to create separation in the halfcourt and can finish around the basket. McQuaid also has the ability to play off the ball and wastes little motion in his jumper. He is a solid on-ball defender and rarely makes bad decisions with the ball in his hands. McQuaid is a gritty, guard prospect whose ability to stretch the floor is something that will help his stock in a big way this season.
Myles Parker Myles Parker 6'7" | SG Rutgers Prep | 2025 State NJ , 6’7 SG Rutgers Prep
Parker is one of the most intriguing prospects in the class with his combination of size, length and skill. The 6’7 lefty has a clean shooting stroke and shoots the ball with confidence from behind the arc. Parker is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and finish around the rim. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and is an underrated rebounder. Parker is a lanky, wing prospect who should make plays for the Argonauts at both ends of the floor this season.
