Continue ReadingNational Signing Day kicked off yesterday, which saw College Achieve point guard Deuce Jones commit and sign with La Salle. The 2024 class still has available talent in the backcourt who can make an impact at the next level. Here are the top available point guards in the 2024 class.
Noah Payne Noah Payne 6'1" | PG Peddie | 2024 State NJ , 6’1 Peddie
Payne is the top available lead guard in the class and will be one to watch throughout the season. The 6’1 guard has a quick first step, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the rim. Payne is more than just a slasher as he has a nice release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. He gets his teammates involved in the halfcourt and works hard on the defensive end. Payne is a scoring, lead guard prospect who should put up big numbers throughout the 2023-24 season.
Nas Robinson Nas Robinson 5'9" | PG Linden | 2024 State NJ , 5’9 Linden
Robinson helped lead the Tigers to the sectional title last season and is looking to do it again this season. The 5’9 guard has a tight handle as he consistently gets into the paint and finishes in a variety of ways around the rim. Robinson can also score in the mid-range and make opponents pay for giving him space on the perimeter. He does not get rattled by on-ball pressure and uses his quick hands to generate turnovers on defense. Robinson is a speedy, lead guard who makes plays with the ball in his hands and should do so throughout the 2023-24 season.
Bubba McNeil Bubba McNeil 5'10" | PG Middle Township | 2024 State NJ , 5’10 Middle Township
McNeil led the Panthers in scoring last season and is looking to do it again in his senior season. The 5’10 lefty has a smooth release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. McNeil is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the rim off the bounce and finish through contact in the paint. He moves well without the ball in his hands and moves his feet on the defensive end. McNeil’s ability to score the ball inside and out is something that will help his stock in a big way this season.
Nick Seeloch Nick Seeloch 5'10" | PG Holmdel | 2024 State NJ , 5’10 Holmdel
Seeloch has been running the Hornets’ offense for the last two seasons and should do it again in 2023-24. The 5’10 guard threads passes to teammates in the halfcourt and rarely makes bad decisions with the ball in his hands. Seeloch wastes little motion in his shooting stroke and can finish through contact around the basket. He also has the ability to play off the ball as well and is an underrated defender. Seeloch’s ability to run the offense is something that will help him and Holmdel throughout the winter.
Semaj Bethea Semaj Bethea 5'10" | PG Camden | 2024 State NJ , 5’10 Camden
Bethea joins a talented Camden roster that is looking to reclaim the Group 2 title. The St. Augustine transfer has a good handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and can finish through contact. Bethea has a nice release on his jumper and rarely forces jumpers in the halfcourt. He plays with good floor vision and can get deflections on defense. Bethea is a tough guard prospect who should have a strong senior season for the Panthers.
